Naming the underwriter is pointless as no policy will be the same.

But you said you hoped from first hand experience from someone.

How could you get that without giving details of the policy?

  • First hand experience of someone who’s been burgled through a lockbox breakage and the outcome.

    It’s very simple.

I could post the whole policy here but there’s no point if anything in it is 100% for everything but this.

The only relevant thing as mentioned is violent or forced entry.
Now it’s down to interpretation and I guess the police report.

Why not just submit the claim and await any clarifications the insurer may ask for?
  • I have. Because it’s Christmas I’m still waiting for the police report which the insurance company will automatically request.
It’s just all happened at the wrong time. Not that there’s any good time.
    The worst year ever.

There’s too much to quote here but the general gist is that it’s forced or violent entry. Which it is in my opinion.
The general gist isnt sufficient, it will come down to the very particular wording used. Who did you buy the policy from? Most vendors have their policy wordings on their website.
