I really doubt OP would have agreed to a meter reader visit if they kicked up something fuss over taking 30 seconds to take a couple of photos - something they could have done at the next meter read anyway so not exactly onerous hoops to jump through! That would have saved them 6 months of (unpaid) effort.

They had been round to read it.

Good one, They added this recently. Because someone pointed out they didn't have it in their terms or refund policy.

For clarity, the reader man has been, had been and is more than welcome to come see the meter. 

The principle of this is that they tried to impose a term and condition that did not exist (however petty). 

Its not on. and they know it, because they have tried to add it now.

And the point of this is that they paid interest at a rate of 8%, to ensure this didn't reach court.
