Morning all, dry but dull today.Hope the procedure goes well and you're home tomorrow Gers.@Silver-oldie, hugs for you.We popped over to see our friends after he had an episode & needed A&E last week. Seems fine now.We had coffee and mince pies and a good chat. Decided to go the log way round to avoid the roadworks but the moors rd was shut too, sadly due to a fatal accident. The diversion took us near to Mr T so we decided to call there, as we were going today anyway. So we have a clear day today. It meant we were a bit late getting home as it was rush hour.I cooked some mince in my IP, and the men had with chips so tea was on the table in 20 mins!I want to try a panettone in my breadmaker today, and the last few things to wrap, but first a dog walk!Take care all.:heartsmil 'A woman is like a teabag: You never know her strength until you drop her in hot water'. Morning all
We arrived home around 8 last night completely shattered but we had such a good time, we walked around 8-10 miles daily and saw most things we wanted to see, the highlight for me was the Vivaldi concert it was truly amazing I cried when they started playing we were both spellbound all the way through, the tour of the prison cells and torture chambers was also amazing, we also went up the tower in St Marks which we have never done before, it was a really good break.
I managed to do a click and collect last night for the few bits we missed so OH will go and get that later, I am going to make the Baileys cheesecake today, along with getting the meat out and doing all the washing / drying, tomorrow I will make the tiramisu and cook the meat, I am going to have a nice long bath later to try and easy my poor aching feet and hopefully have a rest later.
Gers I hope all goes well today xxx
SO bless you, it’s a very hard time of year for some people, sending love to you xxx
Have good days all and take care xx13 -

Morning! Well, yesterday turned into a day of doing nothing, just couldn't get started on anything so sat around all day except for a spurt of house cleaning in the end. I am going out to get some bits later, some eggs, uht milk [ the milkman is not delivering on this usual Thursdays obviously] and Baileys if there's any left
Otherwise, we're not doing anything today..It has suddenly got freezing cold this morning...and the skys a funny colour...fingers crossed for snow! The binmen have had their box of chocs, I ended up putting it in the [clean] food waste bin in a bag and it's not there now so they must have found it. I knew I wouldn't be up when they came. They used to come around eight or nine but now I think they come about half six ish..And sorry the song is later than usual, I couldn't get on here this morning for some reason..SO, my sister is finding the same thing, where things just keep going wrong, but don't get overwhelemd, they can all be sorted out somehow. We have a FB social club just for women in our area, do you have something like that? It would help with reccomendations ofr tradesmen and the like and maybe even with some company. Gers, fingers crossed for rapid treatment and speedy return home. Ruby, sounds fabulous, did you get a gondola ride and watch them dressed up? Coxy, that happened to me once, and then kept happening [ being referred for a scan] so now I refuse to do their work for them and wait at a till no matter how much I have. It gives me time to stand and think about things anyway so no extra work on my part
Take care all, stay wrm and remember there's always someone here to dole out virtual hugs n stuff...and we always listen no matter what
And for anyone still majorly mia, rmember we still think about you all even if we don't write it down.

Morning all, I didn't managed to get on here yesterday as we had a few errands to run then went on to the GC for coffee. I did some shopping in their bakery which is lethal as I bought pasties and pastries etc and I could feel the pounds creeping on. We called in to see Dad afterwards and took him a pasty for his lunch, some mince pies and a large chocolate fresh cream eclair.
Today I'm changing the bed, doing some washing, taking the xmas meat out of the freezer to defrost and just having a general tidy round, I can't clean from top to bottom like I used to.
Gers hope everything goes well for you today.
SO big hugs from me.
Have a good day everyone.

Afternoon all, thinking of you today @Gers and looking forward to seeing you back again soon. Thanks as always @-taff for the carol - now that's an ear-worm song if ever I heard one!
It's another dull and drab day here in these parts - it's getting monotonous now. All my Xmas shopping is done so at least I don't need to be out and about. Insert smug face emoji here!
Food prep is also on track; there's loads of braised red cabbage to somehow fit in the freezer (it was a large one!) and I've also made a not-planned tub of hummus since the box of assorted crackers I bought had a lot of broken ones in it
so the bits can go with the hummus rather than to waste. Today I'll defrost the chicken to be cooked tomorrow.
Yesterday I finally managed to get hold of DBiL and SiL. We had a long catch up although it wasn't a particularly joyful conversation since neither of them is doing well health-wise (he's 80 and has prostate cancer, she's 76 and partially sighted). Reading between the lines, I got the feeling they're struggling with life in general. I really should keep in touch more often, even though the only help I can give is a friendly ear.
On a more cheerful note, I've just had a phone call from DS in sunny Brazil. On Sunday he and DP are flying down to Rio where they'll be staying with his DP's cousin for the rest of their holiday. They have a trip planned to see Christ the Redeemer so that will be another one off the bucket list. Well, you wouldn't go all that way and not see it, would you? Barring any strikes at the airport, they'll be flying back home on NYE.
@TA - Happy Pretend Xmas Day!
@SO - I'm so sorry you're finding things hard at the moment but please remember you can always offload on here when the going gets tough. I too have an errant offspring (DD) who I haven't spoken to in a long time. I've phoned, left voice mails, texted, sent birthday/Xmas cards but I doubt she'll be in touch any time soon. I'm just glad her DF isn't here to see it and that DS is the complete opposite.
@Ruby - Glad you had a fab time, just a shame it wasn't for longer.
@NRA - Happy birthday to Mr NRA.
I hope everyone has a good day and manages to get done everything they need to at this busy time of year. Just think, it will all be done and dusted with in a couple of days!
Take care all, stay safe. X Be kind to others and to yourself too.14
