Buyer changed delivery address, what to do in this situation

I posted a parcel to my buyers home address. Sometime whilst on route she contacted Royal Mail and requested delivery to a local Post Office. It states 'In flight address change' on the parcel.

The parcel has now come back to me with 'Not Collected' written on it. The tracking shows delivery to the PO requested and says 'Out for delivery to PO' the following day. The next day it shows it back at the delivery office and since then it has been returned to me.

The buyer is adamant it was never delivered to the PO yet the writing on the parcel contradicts this and says the parcel was not collected from the PO.

Strangely it was back with me within 7 days of my posting it.

So what do I do now? How many days would a PO keep an item before returning it to sender.

All you can do if this was a custom postage item is to refund. If it was a simple delivery item I wou,d contact eBay as I’m not sure what happens when you cancel in regards to the original postage paid to eBay by buyer.

This sounds like an issue within RM, Pos are struggling to keep up where I am as they often now take parcels for several couriers as well, however that doesn’t really change the final outcome.

Thanks Soolin, it was Simple Delivery but the buyer has not yet opened a case but funnily enough in the last few minutes my Ebay has updated to say 'Refunded, Ebay Paid.

EBay do seem to be refunding quite quickly on all sorts of cases at the moment, I wonder how long they will be so generous considering this simple delivery system is eating into their profits.
