Car scratch repair

  • £900 is about right for an invisible repair. If you want to spend less, there will always be a compromise somewhere.
  • If I’m spending £900 on a paint repair it’s not going to be with Chips Away. A dedicated body shop that’s not exposed to the elements is my choice.

Sounds like a pretty standard parking lot scratch situation. If the scratches aren’t too deep (just through the clear coat), you can probably tidy them up yourself with T-cut/polish and a touch-up paint pen for the scuff near the handle. It won’t be showroom perfect, but it should look much better and save you hundreds. Just make sure to clean the area well and follow the instructions carefully.

If you're not that bothered about it some paint, 2500/3000 wet & dry and a Das6 pro would be waaay cheaper.
    Plus your time though.
Funnily, i've been pondering a small Caddy sized van to facilitate a side project i'm going to work on. I havent seen much movement yet, but in theory markets like pickups and vans are likely to be hit by the upcoming downturn.
Would be interesting to hear if anyone has direct experience?

Why? So you can argue with them?

Finally got around to doing this today. Polishing it with some T-cut worked wonders. I don’t know how it works but it works! It’s not perfect but it looks a lot better so I’m glad I didn’t pay to get it done professionally.
