Morning all...yesterday turned into small jobs day and I did tell OH last night today if it rains we are cleaning the house. He said ok, and gues what? It's not raining today! If it stays this way I will go and potter at the allotment. I finished my cowl, now I'm making some matching arm warmers, amazing what a difference keeping your wrists covered makes. I'm pretty pleased with the cowl too, nice and long so I can chuck it over my head or scrumple it all up round my neck. I really hate having wind whistling on my neck so it covers it all nicely. I might however look a bit dodgy like that
I have my lamp to grout after I got round to sticking more beads on, so I'm not short of things to do. There's some perishables to shop for today or tomorrow..Last year I ordered cheese and stuff from the milkman and completely forgot I ordered it, then when I remembered I realised I hadn't put a bag out for it and the foxes had had it, so Merry Christmas foxes for last year, not this year though...My cheese moiuntain is coming from the shop straight to the fridge.Β Gers, safe driving! Glad you enjoyed some nice/nostalgic memories, Christmas here for me hasn't been the same since my mother went, she loved the sparklies..Chris, hope you get in and out like a ninja! Scarlet, how lovely you've spread Christmas out..maybe you should put the sprout on a tcik and stick it on the top of the tree
Coxy, you can never have too big a cheese mountain, it's like leftover wine, no such thing...although it all freezes so...TA, she does such a difficult and important job, hope she gets some respite herself...camelot, happy travels
Izzy, you saying about colour reminds me when I went to the same haridressers, one woman would come in every year to have her hair dyed dark green with red bits so it looked like a christmas tree, she was in her eighties and enjoyed it, so there's always that
WL, happy belated birthday!Β remmie, oooo pie! love it! Allie, well done keeping the cheese production flow...Take care all, shout to SO and you too weenancy...and bella, and tru, and anyone else I've forgotten...Non me fac calcitrare tuum culi13 -
Morning All
Gers have a good journey and hope all goes well for tomorrow.
Camelot safe journey have a lovely time
TA a big thank you to your DD and others like her who work over Christmas and other holidays. Glad your bp has improved.
Scarlett intrigued about your brussell sprout. As im the only one who eats them my lovely friend is giving me some of her fresh ones to have with my Christmas lunch.
Coxy well done on giving blood.
WL happy belated birthday for yesterday glad you had a lovely day.
Remmie enjoy your s and k pie
DH still sniffling and coughing but is improving each day. Popped to see DD yesterday and both DGC have colds as well but again improving. Just hoping nothing gets passed on.
Popped out yesterday for couple of gifts for the pets ( yes you read that correctly), mainly dog and cat treats for DD and DF pets. Surprised how quiet supermarket was. Picked up some 5p veg to blanche and freeze.
Right enough waffle from me sending hugs to all who need them.

NRA you are not alone in buying for pets. I got DS's dog a new Christmas blanket and DD's house rabbits some crunchy rabbit sticks. And what's worse is the gift tag was signed With love from Grandma xxΒ Β"If you dream alone it will remain just a dream. But if we all dream together it will become reality"10

Morning all quite a bright day today.Good luck Gers. The house is quiet as DH has gone with DS2 to look at a job in his role as advisor
I was hoping we could call at our friends this afternoon but he may not want to as they're not back yet.DS needs to pick up a top I mended for DGS, new- worn once but the zip wasn't stitched in properly at the end. I could do with a couple of bits for both DS yet, and some things I forgot to get
probably tomorrow. We were out early yesterday as DGS was playing for a new Sunday team, we had to head up the motorway for that.He scored a penalty so earned pats on the back from the new team-mates as none of the others wanted to take itΒ
His DM came too, Sundays are prob better for her so that was nice, she treated us all to a coffee too.Shepherds pie for tea.Take care all.:heartsmil 'A woman is like a teabag: You never know her strength until you drop her in hot water'. (Eleanor Roosevelt)8 -
Morning all, thanks @Gers for today's (very early) start, I expect you'll be glad to get today over with.Β Best wishes that all goes to plan followed by a swift recovery.Β Thanks also to @-taff for the carol, probably the first one I learned as a nipper.
Once again the weather leaves a lot to be desired - it's murky with thick cloud and some rain could be thrown into the mix too.Β Not too cold but I do miss the sun.
Yesterday's grocery delivery all put away and that's my food shopping done now until the New Year.Β I'll not starve, that's for sure.Β Good luck to those of you who have still to brave M&S!Β
Β Β I'm eyeing up a bottle of Bucks Fizz that I've treated myself to for Xmas Day morning because I hadn't realised it would come with a cork/wire stopper.Β I may need to call upon my NDN's hubby to open it for me - my dodgy hands won't oblige and I don't have a sword to lop off the top!Β
Β Β The SC has been pressed into service again today, this time with braised red cabbage that's smelling wonderfully Xmas-y.Β
@Scarlet - The one sprout thing happened to me too a couple of years back; what on earth does the picker think you can do with one sprout?Β Β
Β Β I do like -taff's suggestion of a tree ornament though!
@Coxy - Well done on donating blood, so important and generous, and always needed whatever the time of year.
@TA - I hope your DD has a well-deserved rest once she's done all her Xmas shifts, she and her co-workers deserve a medal.Β Your Xmas is definitely going to feel different!
@camelot - Safe travels and happy holiday.
@WL - Ouch, fingers crossed that cracked tooth doesn't spoil the festivities.Β A belated happy birthday too.
Here's wishing everyone a not too stressful day, kind thoughts too to our MIA - drop in when you can.Β Take care, stay safe and well.Β XBe kind to others and to yourself too.10 -
Hello everyone
I seem to have been rushing about this morning and was down at mam and dads by 9am as she had an appointment with the chiropodist, which was cancelled as someone was taken ill in his room and they had to call an ambulance. I was quite surprised that she was given Β£5 for her taxi home...anyways she wasn't happy. I went to M and S for a couple of things she needed and then to Lidl - both were packed with people with trolleys so full that you'd think the shops were going to be closed for weeks!
A few of us seem to be having mixed up Christmases - little one had her presents from me on Saturday morning, a Gabbys dolls house and room sets to go in it. She was delighted and helped build it ( from useless instructions) and then spent most of the weekend playing with it. She was here till teatime yesterday so that was lovely. We read a pile of Christmas books before she went home.Β
She's away to York with DD today to go to the christmas market and then to see Cinderella, then tomorrow they'll go to Butlins for 5 nights. I have eldest DD coming from Germany on Wednesday.
Right I have washing to hang on the airer and then I'll go over to my friend for a cuppa.
Hope all goes well tomorrow Gers8
