It's an early start from me today. Need to be up at the big town for an 8.30a.m. appointment then collect a food order from Marks which was done back in November well before hospital stuff. It's annoying to have to travel the 30 miles each way but it's unavoidable. I'll come home, stick the food in the freezer before heading off to Glasgow. The washing is dry. Dishwasher empty too. Packing done and butterflies rising. I hope that everyone has a good day. Happy travels @Camelot.13

Morning allHope all goes well for your op and you have a lovely Christmas @Gers xOff to big shopping centre today to get the security tag taken off my top and will pop into Marks to get a few foody bits and pieces for Boxing Day. Will get in and out as quickly as possible as it will probably be heaving after a few hours of opening.Have a good day all x11

Mornimg, thanks Gers. Hope all goes well for you.
Nice to see you Remmie, I wondered where you were.
Silver-Oldie, I was thinking about you, hope you are all right.
I was up early yesterday, I had a delivery from Sains coming. I'd booked a delivery slot of 6.30-7.30 because I knew I'd be up. It arrived about 6.45, so I had it sorted out and put away nice and early. I was puzzled by a pack of raisin and cinnamon bagels that I hadn't ordered, but the delivery guy was long gone so I've just had to keep them. Also one Brussels sprout -I'm sure I've had one Brussels delivered before.
I'd ordered some extra stuff, some of which I've had to put in the landing cupboard, dry stuff like flour and cereal.
Ds and dil came for lunch, and we had a gift exchange. Dd turned up in the afternoon bearing presents, she was on her way to their cottage in Weardale. We'll be going there on Thursday.
Today I'm visiting my housebound friend up the road, and I think I'll pop to the shops. One of my other house bound friends wanted a few things from the shops here, I'll take them to her tomorrow.
I could do with tidying the freezer as well, it's not that long since since I did it, but it seems to be in a bit of a state.
Hope everyone is all right, thinking of anyone who is not well.
Take care folks.

Morning all and thanks for the start @Gers. Hope you have a safe journey later x
I'd set off now if I were you @Chrisca50!!
We had a good time at DSis' house yesterday and I may have sung karaoke - wasn't even drinking, just very happy!! Today I have an appointment to donate blood, and DH and I will go to get veg, mixers and desserts for the big day. We are only 4 this year so not too much needed, although we seem to have spent a lot on cheese.... good job we love cheese.
Have been up since 5.30am with a busy brain, so one load of washing has been on and the other is midway through. I need to wrap the last two gifts today then that is all done.
Have a good day all

Morning GERS and fellow insomniacs. What a farce GERS, an extra trip you could do without. Safe travels. Safe travels to you too CAMELOT, have a fantastic family holiday.
I have the pleasure of a Friday Tidy today after low BP stopped play last Friday. Today's tidy may well cover last Friday and the coming Friday before normal service is resumed in the new year.
It's to be a bit of a disjointed Christmas for me thanks to DD's rota, but sadly end of life care is still needed for the unfortunate ones that need it. . They try to work the rota fairly but it doesn't work for everybody. As it is we are having Christmas Dinner, fun and games tomorrow, 2 days early. Then Christmas Day DD is working an early shift, finishing around 2 pm and picking me up on her way home. As Christmas Dinner has now been enjoyed (hopefully!) this is to be a present opening afternoon followed by an easy Italian tea to just warm up in the oven. This is my job! And dare I make anything other than my Bolognese Pasta Bake! DD is veggie so for her (and any other waifs and strays who may pop in bearing gifts) I am making an Orzo and Lentil cheese and tomato bake. Then DD is back at work on Boxing Day for a double shift. After that the rota is kinder to her!
Have a good day folks if you can with ((HUGS)) as always for our poorlies, sad or lonely. It's not a joyous family time for everybody. Take care all, be safe xx

Morning all. Dull and dreary here.
We had a lovely day out in London yesterday for my 72nd birthday. Met with all the family for lunch in Bloomsbury and then we went to the Chelsea Village Illuminations, which was rather muddy because of the persistent rain. Unfortunately our train home was delayed (with us on it!) because of a tree down across the line but we got home in the end. All our clothes have gone in the wash and we now feel warm and dry again; it was just that sort of weather!
Today I need to pop over to DD's and then I'm expecting a Christmas chilled food delivery, mainly consisting of lunch for DH and myself on Thursday. We are celebrating as a family on Wednesday due to DS's rota.
Unfortunately I think I cracked a molar yesterday. I've phoned the dentist but can't be seen until 5 January so will see how it goes.
@Gers; all the best for the operation and hope you recover swiftly.
Hope everyone else's plans go well and best wishes to all the poodles.13 -
Good morning, safe travels Gers and hope your op goes well with a speedy recovery.
Usual chores today, laundry etc. We are braving the shops tomorrow as one DH wants to go to is closed on Mondays.
Today I'll make a steak and kidney pie which will do us for tonight and tomorrow night, before the traditional Christmas eve meal.
Thinking of you Silver Oldie, hope you're OK.
Safe travels Camelot
Have a good day all, take care.12 -
