Accomodation in Moscow, February

Can anyone recommend somewhere to stay in Moscow in early February? I understand it may be easier to rent an appartment.

Sorry can't help directly but I can tell you that Moscow is really expensive.

My husband travels on business and stays at the Holiday Inn which is £200 per night and that's a relatively cheap deal.

A lot of the other hotels have ladies of the night in the foyer/bars but Holiday Inn have "bouncers" on the doors.

Moscow is not that safe so I wouldn't just choose an appartment off the net. Get a personal recommendation.

There have been a few threads on Moscow here before so might well be worth using the search facility.
I also recommend https://www.tripadvisor.com which contains traveller reviews.

Also make sure you get yourself a metro map in English and cyrillic (sp?)
. There are not English signs on the metro and it uses the cyrillic alphabet so it's actually more difficult than you would think.

Well, I've got a native guide, so I'm not too worried.

I needn't stay in the city centre actually.
