Morning All
Thanks for the start Gers.
Rain overnight but it's dry at the moment, I've just put food out for the little robin who comes right up to the back door asking for something, probably a bit early for it but it always seems to be first up!
I got all my jobs done yesterday and presents delivered. I left things at people's doors and text them to let them know. Took friend's little dog for a long walk then a shorter one later, friends are in Iceland and their DD was at work so it saved her going out in the cold and dark after I picked her up. Had a nice couple of hours finishing watching Shetland, I'm all caught up now at last.
Well done on getting everything wrapped up Nanny, a job I really dislike!
Hope your DH keeps those germs to himself NRA.
What a shame the carol service wasn't on Scarlet, good job the pub was nearby!
Would love to see the chairs once they're finished taff.
Hope you're ok SO.
I'm off up to see DS1 and family today, I'll call at Sainsbury's on the way for a nose about and collect something from Argos in there. It's quite a long drive there and back so that will be most of my day done.
Bathrooms have been cleaned and a load of washing done, just me to get in the shower and get ready.
Hope you all have a peaceful Sunday, take care. XX10 -
Good morning Gers,.
Apologies from me for being awol, the days are flying by. We had our DD and family visiting last week, we won't be seeing them now until after Christmas. We had presents and party food, and a good time was had by all. Although there's only the two of us for Christmas, I still seem to be doing a lot of planning. Still last minute food shopping to get, including the turkey.
Plans for today, I'm going to cook some steak and kidney to make a pie tomorrow, which will do us for two days. Today is tbd, but plenty in.
I've been trying to read along, but can't remember who's been doing what, so I'll just say hugs to all the lonely and poorlies, and hello to everyone else. Have a good day all.

Morning Gers, morning allRead yesterday and was feeling not right in myself and was surprised to read what @TravellingAbuela was saying about her blood pressure pills as I was experiencing strange things with mine too! Was advised to double one of them after I had to give in a weeks worth of blood pressure numbers. First I felt that I was coming down with a UTI and then started to get jittery feelings in my stomach. Checked oline and they were side effects so I've gone back to my usual dose and will speak to doctor's when they get back to me after Crimbo.Nothing planned today and thought we'd have burger and chips for dinner before more richer dinners next week!Have a good day all xx11

Well it’s raining again here.Yesterday started off foggy but eventually brightened up - had a couple of hours stomping around the forest and catching up with a friend. Then some time removing mud from Bdog - he wasn’t impressed with the mud or the wash and had a bit of a grumpy face all day.Did some tidying up and sorted out a tangle and mess of ribbon so that’s another craft area tidied. No plans today - Christmas prep all done apart from making stuffing balls, I’ll do later and we can have some with tonight’s roast chicken.Have a good day all

I'm stirred up here. 😀 The wee cabin suitcase has been brought out from retirement for the next few days along with my trusty backpack. One is for my few days in Glasgow with Alan and the other for the overnight stay in hospital. Dressing gown is going in after all as is a woolly jumper and Christmas Day clothes. What a palaver it all is. 😂 And I mustn't forget my slippers. Perhaps I need a trailer.Yesterday I had my pharmacist appointment, we do spend a bit of time just blethering, then I picked up the ironing. Later I had to go out again as I didn't have dark chocolate for the puddini bonbons but came back with something called dark milk chocolate. It git used! Making the little balls is so messy so wore some vinyl gloves for it. Today I have do the final decoration. No Angelica anywhere so I've bought a tube of green icing to make the Holly leafs from.Happy winter solstice to all. The light will find us again soon, one minute at a time.11

Morning folks and thanks GERS. I hope you have packed enough!! It looks rather drab out there and I think light rain is forecast. Yesterday we had fog which lingered most of the day.
CHRISCA how odd that we should both be having low BP symptoms. Despite being on meds my BP can still be on the high side, never low like that. I have kept checking it and it's back to normal now.
Last grocery shop before Christmas yesterday and although Sainsbob's was busy it wasn't manic and we didn't have long to wait at the checkouts. I got all on my list and a few extra goodies may have dropped in my trolly too. I didn't go overboard with the cheap veg, just a swede but I did see quite a lot of trollies loaded up with cheap veg. I wonder how much of it will end up in the bin after Christmas.
I stripped the bed earlier and the wm is chugging away with the bedding. That will festoon the upstairs to dry. I am still psyching myself up to remake the bed. Lunch has been prepped, a cottage pie, cavolo nero, carrots and peas, with enough of the veg to warm up with something else tomorrow.
Have a lovely day folks if you can with ((HUGS)) for our poorlies, sad or lonely. If you are reading along SO my thoughts are with you. It would be lovely if your family got in touch. Take care all, be safe xx

Morning all, I'm up early as I had an early sm delivery slot, all now delivered except 3 items which are not necessities so having a coffee mid sort and put away. I'm done for food shopping, anything missing can stay missing.
Yesterday DGS stayed for breakfast, lunch and tea and he was concerned that DD and SiL haven't done their food shop yet, but he was happy that mine was all sorted, he'd have a Vicar of Dibley xmas lunch if you let him 🤣 ! At least feeding him has left some room for today's shop in the fridge and freezer. He's helping DD at a xmas market today and giving SiL a break.
Right coffee break over so I must get back to sorting. I might need a nana nap this afternoon.
Hope everyone has a good day and doesn't get too stressed.
Take care all

A quick good morning from Mehefinland
OMG I had forgotten how voracious DS was!! My stash of cheapo veg for major soopermarkets was decimated, and the lovely joint of venison which I had hoped to keep a little back, completely disappeared - it was nice though.
Today we are off with the dogs for lunch at a local pub so at least I won't have to cook
Got my friend to put the nags in at lunchtime
Hugs and spoons as always

Morning! Not raining but probably will...I had a day of doings yesterday in the end, dropped some stuff off to various friends, had a coffee at one house, went to three shops trying to find some cat litter, there seems to be a shortage of it for some reason, dropped that off and some food at a local lady who rescues cats and helped with the grey one I had here, discovered it was her birthday and sh was a bit sad no one had remembered, but as I was leaving someone turned up with some choccies, card and flowers so that was ok in the end...Today I'm probably having a day off, doing some gardening and fixing some things around the house and maybe sanding the chairs. I stuck some more beads on the lamp last night so can't grout it now until tomorrow, looking forward to that. OH is feeling the pressure of thinking about food and that I find quite funny
Today we're having some braised pork shoulder steaks [ have to cut up a part of the shoulder I froze for that, with either mash or roasties and some sprouts and doubling down on the brassicas with some cabbage. My sister is coming up in between the festivites so she'll be here next Sunday until the 30th.Gers, hopefully one of your favourite tunes is up today, well done for being so organised! Have a lovely time away and hope the procedure goes off smoothly. Nanny, you could hire him out as a professional freezer emptier
I might take advantage one day! camelot, safe driving! remmie, same here, jsut us two but I think I've managed to scale back a bit this year, no expensive cut of beef [ although there is still time for me to go to a proper butchers..] Sory to the poorly people, hope you all get well soon and a shout to the lonely..Take care all...

Morning all, thanks @Gers for starting off today's thread. Thanks also to @-taff for the carol - I remember learning that one at school, taught to us by Mrs W who took us for German lessons. I can't remember all the words now but tbf it was more than 60 years ago!
Now I'm tempted to open the stollen that I've resisted so far!
The fog lingered all day yesterday and today doesn't look much better either. I really dislike these dull winter days - no sooner have I opened the curtains than I seem to be closing them again!
Grocery delivery is due at lunchtime, one sub to go back and two out of stocks that aren't essentials, so not too bad. While I'm waiting I'll get the SC on to cook some mince that I defrosted overnight; half will do for tomorrow's dinner with mash etc and the other half will go back in the freezer for another day. Tonight I'm having a h/m pasta bake. No other plans for today so once the shopping has been put away I'll either carry on with the latest cross stitch or start a new jigsaw puzzle - or maybe a bit of each!
I hope everyone has a good day, get well wishes to the poorly ones, hugs for the sad and lonely. Take care all. XBe kind to others and to yourself too.10
