Times Newspaper subscritption

Decided to reduce some of the subscription costs that we were not really using to the full. Was surprised to find that the only way to cancel the Times subscription was by joining the long queue on the telephone, and then there was a period of sales, just like the old double glazing approach, to offer all sorts of incentives to keep us. Looking back to the 'welcome' email from the Times there was no reference to their T&Cs. Surely if a contract is to be valid, there has to be more than a mention of these on the telephone? Or a tick box to confirm agreement? Well, reduced monthly costs by £30 so win-win!

Contracts do not have to be in writingIf you are querying your Council Tax band would you please state whether you are in England, Scotland or Wales0

I'd love to see all subscriptions be as easy to cancel as they are to set up.
If you can join up online, you should also be able to cancel online.

I gave up on the Times sub mostly because of their habit of jacking up the renewal price to absurd levels and only reducing it if you rang and listened to a salesman whose job it was to get you to renew. It's a poor way to do business and they have lost mine but they will probably have got over that!1

I so agree, their marketing model is all wrong, how can they legitimise £30 per month for digital access! I'm sure they will soon be over losing me too!giraffe69 said:I gave up on the Times sub mostly because of their habit of jacking up the renewal price to absurd levels and only reducing it if you rang and listened to a salesman whose job it was to get you to renew.
