New build short notice to completion

Is there any benefit to me in accepting notice to completion in 1 day or the same day? Developer is putting me under pressure to accept this (presumably so they hit their end of year sales target) but my solicitor has advised against it given that 1 day to draw down mortgage funds is ambitious just before Christmas and I would be liable if funds aren’t available on the day of completion. But the developer sales office have tried everything from bribing me (and telling me not to notify my solicitor of this) to telling me that I’m the only buyer causing problems. I’ve had calls from multiple people now in the sales office including their head office sales director. I am also dubious as to whether the build is actually complete. It’s still behind hoarding with work going on behind it.
Do I accept the short turnaround or stick to my solicitors advice of sticking to the 10 working days notice in the contract?

Or, would it be a good idea to accept the advice of your solicitor who is acting in your best interests, or the developers who are only interested in making as much profit as possible and don't give a stuff about you?
(Personally I wouldn't buy a bag of sweets from them; they sound like crooks).3 -
Are they actually wanting you to contractually commit to completing on 1 day's notice? You could just leave the contract as it is, and they give you an incentive if you complete faster than the 10 days (though might be complicated if your solicitor thinks the mortgage lender needs to agree the additional discount).1

No the contract says 10 working days. It's not a "breach" if both parties are happy to do it!Ybe said:

Do your demo and point out any faults you find. New houses often have issues and if they have been rushing you may find some. I would simply leave it to the solicitor and don't pick up the phone to them. Make your solicitor earning his money, sales people just want their bonus.2

I was thinking this. There’s no benefit to me in accepting anything outside contract. Your solicitor says don't do it. They have the experience.
You haven't had a look round yet and it's behind hoarding.
It's in the Christmas period when solicitors and banks are closed or running slow because others are on holiday.
Wonder if that's why it's a good time to put pressure on you for their Christmas present.
You won't be able to sort out any problems for a fortnight.
If you tell them that you can't get the money in place until January that is a good phrase to stick to and repeat as often as necessary.
You are the customer, they won't want to jeopardise the sale after the season.
