Morning all, thanks so much for the warm welcome back ❤️. I had a bad night as in pain and couldn't get comfy in bed or on the sofa and I was cold, even with an extra blanket.
DGS arrived earlier this morning to help set up our new PS5, an xmas present between Mr Fix It and myself. DGS hadn't had any breakfast (so he says) so I've done him a breakfast sandwich, he'll probably stay for lunch and tea too, you'd swear his mother never feeds him !
I did most of the present wrapping yesterday but there are still a few stragglers to be done. Probably I'll just be a "pass me that" person and the cook today.
Gers I hope your op is successful and swift.
Scarlett I don't blame firms for making more money and we were already thinking of giving up the van so it just gave us that push. Shame about the carol service though.
Izzy I see you're as busy as ever.
TA you're right about old age I never thought I'd be as ill though. I must be thankful that I was ok when the DGC were small and I was available for play, now I can get my own back and put them to work !!! I hope you feel more yourself today.
Camerlot we'll meet ourselves coming back, I'm sure we're supposed to be slowing down by now.
taff that's one of my fav songs. I notice you're still speedy gonzales, will you ever slow down ?
dp1 hope the little one is ok for hols and xmas.
Sorry if I've forgotten anyone, I'm sure I have
Take care all

Afternoon all and thanks for today's start @Gers. Not long to go now before your op then you can hopefully relax a bit more. Thanks also to @-taff for today's Xmas song choice. It's lovely to see some of our MIA posting again too, you've been missed.
Well, Mr Weatherman got it wrong for today! He said we should have a dry day with sunny intervals but ..... although the overnight frost has just about disappeared, the fog has not. If anything, it's got worse.
I was up early this morning and have done all that needs doing so it will be another leisurely day for me. I've just had breakfast brunch of scrambled egg & toast and am now pondering what to do with myself for the rest of the day. Before my mind and body drift off into sloth mode though, I'll take the 'read' books back to the Little Free Library and try again to phone DBiL and his wife. After that, who knows? Tomorrow's grocery delivery should (hopefully) be the last shop of the year; if there's anything I don't get I'm sure I'll manage with what I have. On the cheap veg front, I've gone for just sprouts and a red cabbage; I don't like parsnips, have plenty of carrots and swede, don't eat that many potatoes and there's not much wriggle room in the freezer either. Besides, I'm not catering for the masses - just little old me.
@Izzy - I'm not doing a Sunday dinner this week either and have just pulled a pasta bake out of the freezer for tomorrow.
@TA - Fingers crossed the drop in blood pressure was just a blip and doesn't happen again. Keep an eye on it though - insert waggy finger here. X
@-taff - Yes, I could take myself off to somewhere warmer next year but I won't be doing a Shirley Valentine!
Right, time to get these books out of the house so I'll wish everyone a good and stress-free day. Usual hugs where needed or wanted. Take care all. XBe kind to others and to yourself too.7
