Hi all, thanks for starting us off @Scarlet. The weather here looks better than yesterday; the rain never let up all day and I half expected to see an ark floating past!
Today it's bright and sunny, no rain expected either, which is a good job as the ground is sodden. Such contrary weather - I've already seen daffodils poking through the ground, about 2" high, much earlier than usual.
I had a quiet day yesterday with not a lot done, not that I was planning on doing a lot anyway. Apart from the normal daily stuff, I sent in the gas meter reading (less used than the same period last year) and phoned DBiL/SiL but got no reply, so I'll try again this weekend. Last night DS pinged me some photos of where they've been sightseeing, including panoramic views of the bay - was I envious? You bet I was!
Today's plans include: weekly admin, review of Sunday's grocery delivery, resume search for a calendar, usual fish tea followed by a snuggle on the sofa tonight to watch a film - Mrs Harris Goes To Paris. I might even crack open the Xmas Baileys!
@Scarlet - Glad to hear DH's procedure went well - you might have to loan him some concealer! Well done on resisting the coat.
@camelot, @dp1 and @AA - Happy end of term! The primary school over the road from me has just finished so I've been amusing myself watching the children coming out proudly clutching the Xmas decs they've made, not to mention the usual shenanigans of musical car parking!
@Chrisca - Shame about the cardi - that's technology for you!
@Gers - Glad you had a safe journey, good luck for today. When DS was working in Scotland he occasionally used PIs that were in need of a renovation but sometimes struck it lucky with private B&Bs instead.
@WL - I'll keep my fingers crossed you don't get flooded, never good but especially at this time of year.
@nanny - Oh dear, you have had a rough time of it, I really hope next year will bring better times for you and DH. Shame about the van too but happy memories will remain.
@-taff - Thanks for the carol. Sounds like you have a busy day in store - just remember to breathe!
@NRA - I hope hubby keeps his germs to himself!
Right, that's my lunch break done with so I'll wish you all a good end of week. Hugs if you need one, take care. XBe kind to others and to yourself too.6 -

Good evening all, hope the day has gone well for all of you.The funeral for our friend went as well as it could yesterday, so many people, a lot had to wait outside. We seem to have been busy today, Dh wanted to visit the pastie shop in town to stock up on frozen goodies to have in just in case, after that I nipped in Al di for some veg, got 3 swede, 2 bags of carrots and a red cabbage, a few other bits I needed too. I've prepped 1 swede for the freezer. The rest is stored in a box outside until I get round to prepping it. Meatballs for tea, and a foccacia I'm making, dough made in the bm, and currently proving.@nannywindow , so sorry you've been having such a rough time of it but lovely to see you post!DGS finished school at 1 so we went to pick up & then drop off at DS2s. We had to wait with him until his Dad got home after someone he's been working for treated them to a pub lunch.Right better check on the foccacia....hope it's risen
Take care all..
