It seems dry and windy outside as far as I can tell.
Yesterday went as planned, I went to the Dr's with Dh, and he had his procedure, a keratosis removed from his face. He's ok, but is starting to bruise.
When we got home I did a few jobs then hit the road for Newcastle. Met up with my friend and we wandered around looking at the lovely decorations and lights everywhere.
It was packed, but we weren't shopping, just looking. I saw a nice coat in M&S, but I do not need a coat , so wasn't going to be tempted. I was home by 3.30.
I'd booked a delivery slot from Sains for early Sunday morning, and started an order, so I completed the order last night. It's for 6.30- 7.30 am, but I'll be up. I only have a delivery occasionally.
There's a bit of shopping to do today, just bits and pieces, and I'm going to a carol service at our parish church this evening with a friend.
That's it really.
YL, congratulations on your Ds's happy news.
Hope Ruby is having a good time in Venice, am I envious, yes, of course I am! Thoughts to anyone who is poorly, sad or lonely. As others have said, this is not a happy time for everyone.
Take care folks.

Morning All
Thanks for the start Scarlet, hope your DH doesn't have too much bruising. Well done on stepping away from the coat!
The wind has howled all night again and the rain has been lashing against the windows, it woke me up about 2.30 and I didn't really get back to sleep. Thank goodness it's Friday and the end of term!
Got some things ready for my trip on Monday, will take a bag to DD today with things for the shared check in case. I just have a small under seat case for the plane, it's surprising what I can fit in there!
Good call going to Glasgow yesterday Gers, the weather is truly awful for driving. Hope everything goes well today.
Pleased to hear the little one is recovering dp1.
Hope you enjoyed the concert Ruby and you're having a good time.
Hope you all have a good day, take care. XX12 -
Morning allWe fitted a light with a fan this summer in our bedroom and it has a remote control. We had a power cut in the night for a short while and it came back on at 4.30am. How do I knoew that? The light came on automatically and woke me up. It's going to be a long day!Had a nice lunch with my colleague yesterday. I bought a nice cardigan with sparkly buttons to wear for Christmas and it had an outing yesterday. I put it on, smoothed it down only to find that the security button was still attached. It's obviously not a good one as I didn't set it of when I walked out of the store. I used the self service till and didn't notice that it had one on. I really don't want to go back to the large shopping mall as it will be rammed. Will leave it until after Christmas.Off to do a bit of food shopping later but that's about all for today.Have a good day all x12

Morning folks -=thanks for the start @Scarlet. It's great that your DH is fine, the bruising will soon go. I miss seeing Fenwick's Christmas window display, it's always wonderful. What a pain about the cardie @Chrisca, I hope it's in a place which hide it so you can still wear it. Happy packing @Camelot.My drive down yesterday was without any problems, only the occasional roadworks, BEAR Scotland is going all out cutting back trees from the verges of the main roads, probably hoping to avoid storm damage causing closures or accidents. The PI is an improvement over the one on Monday though still in need of refurbishing. I've had breakfast and now on second coffee congratulating myself on coming down ahead of time. Weather has been atrocious so far. The hospital clinic is only five minutes away so I don't have to worry about getting there. The two deliveries of cheese boxes were delivered on time yesterday with one more today then I'm done! I hope that nobody is too stressed, it'll soon be over. Take care all, hugs abound.11

Hi all
Yesterday was hard work at college with IT issues but got there eventually plus posted my last pre-Christmas order so I feel like I’m on holiday now!Trip to the next town along this morning to visit the specialist wine shop as DM wants a bottle of Dubonnet for DF- there’s a blast from the past - I doubt many people drink it now. Anyway they sell it but will give them a ring first to check stock. No other plans - cards done, one present to wrap so will likely tidy up my supply of gift bags paper and tags and things - needs a cull I think.Hope everyone has a good day.AA12 -
Morning all
I too was woken up by a phone call; this one was for a flood warning. So far it's dry outside but we've had a lot of rain lately so any more might tip us over the edge.
Our nice next door neighbour is moving out today after 6 years; the removal van has already arrived. The house is owned by the church so we'll have to wait and see if we get new neighbours next year.
Off to Lidl in a while to pick up some of their cheapie veg.
Hope your pre op check goes ok Gers and you get back safely.
Happy Friday everyone.11 -
Morning everyone
The wind is howling here again.
Camelot - I'll copy you - pleased it's Friday and the end of term! I love the childrens' excitement at this time of the year, but it seems to have lasted a long time this year - probably because a lot of them have had Christmas trees up at home since the middle of November!
I'm looking forward to our Festive afternoon tea this afternoon, we'll go as soon as the children have left and we've done a quick tidy.
Best get a move on, I could blow away waiting for the bus as the bus stop is at the top of the hill, surrounded by fields!
Hope everyone has a good day x10 -
Hello all, long time no see, it's ages since I was last on here ! Life has been a bit of a struggle with health issues and being in and out of hospitals since we came back from hols in Sept. Our hols were a bit of a nightmare too starting with me falling down the 'van steps on day one, when I cracked a few ribs and twisted my back, through to losing my bank card and then knocking a full glass of water over our phones, laptop and remotes etc.. talk about being accident prone so believe me I was glad to get back home. We have finally decided to sell our van as I'm struggling with everything and our storage fees have more than doubled, seems they can get more money by changing the yard over to a container storage place.
Mr Fix it has been a rock as always but my dad is getting more difficult by the day, no change there then !
Today I have to wrap a few presents, not too many as everyone is having mainly money, except Dad who is getting a hamper filled with some of his favourites. Mr Fix it has taken Susie tank to have some work done so he'll go for coffee with a friend while he waits to collect. We have a few presents being delivered today, then I must not buy any more !!
I've finally bought a new laptop dragging myself into the present and it's taking a bit of getting used to, it seems to have a life of it's own and the old brain isn't as quick as it used to be.
I hope everyone is well and almost ready for Christmas. Hugs to all, healing vibes to anyone with illness and patience to anyone who is in need, this time of year can be very stressful. Happy hols to Ruby and thanks to taff for the Christmas songs.
Have a good day everyone, whatever you are doing.
Take care all

Morning all and thanks for the start @ScarletRibbons. Good call stepping away from the coat!
Annoying about the tag @Chrisc50 ☹️
I have a day to myself today as DH is working. I’ve made a veg chilli and it’s in the SC. It’s not needed until Sunday so I’ll let it improve in the fridge tomorrow then reheat. I need to pop out as the can opener is on its last legs plus I’m awaiting a message about an M&S clothing order to collect.Hope the pre-op assessment goes okay @Gers x

Morning! We actually have no rain for a change..it just did not let up yesterday, got a bit damp fetching the chairs and scurrying across the road but I have them and will be recovering them at the weekend I think. Got another saucepan from a charity shop and a string of stars from another, we had a nice sandwich and tea at a little caff, and then I did pretty much nothing the rest of the day. My cowl needs to be cast off and sewn together, someone is coming to fetch something I had for sale, my lamp needs some beads sticking on where some fell off, I need a hair cut and then we're out tonight with an old friend. So my day is a bit chocka today..Oh and I must post the last card to my fathers friend. And maybe stop off and get some cheap veg. I can't stock up on it, somehow my freezers are full to bursting but I don't actually remember putitng that much in them..mind you, quite a lot of it is stok I've made, or ready meals I've made, good job I made a list, the things are slowly being crossed off...
Nanny, how lovely to see you, sorry you've been through the wars, fingers crossed for a better time ahead! Gers, hope the procedure goes well..Scarlet, sorry you've had a bad night, at least the day was good. Chris, sorry about your rude awakening too and the tag, I'd wear it anyway if it's not in the way
camelot, sorry about your bad night too...this is becoming a theme..dp1, have a lovely last day. Dubonnet Allie? seems years since I heard that name! hope they have some...Coxy, enjoy your day! Take care all, hope you all have a good day... Non me fac calcitrare tuum culi8 -
Morning All
Gers hope all goes well with your pre op.
Nanny lovely to hear from but ouch about your injuries.
DP1 glad LO is improving
Sorry to all the early risers hope you get a lap during the day.
Yesterday was an absolute wash out, it poured most of the day. We went shopping and crumbs was it busy. Only really need veg now.
DH waited in for a delivery and it didnt arrive until 9.30pm, really felt for the delivery driver.
DH is sitting next to me with hot lemon, sounds like the start of a cold. Hoping he keeps it to himself.
Sunny this morning so may pop out for a bit later.
Hope everyone has a good day and hugs to all who want them.
