Hi,
I've never posted here before, only ever lurked, but I wanted to make an account to say thank you for all of the helpful threads, responses and the Newbies Sticky that helped me a HUGE amount in how to defend against Euro Car Parks/DCLB.
If it matters, my parking ticket was for a petrol station site not a parking lot site and the claim was for £189.84 + solicitor & court fees taking the total claim to £274.84. I submitted my defence via email (not MCOL) and my timeline is as follows (court date was set for 2nd week of Jan 2026):
Initial ticket: October 2024
Court claim: 25th March 2025
AOS submitted: 8th April 2025
Defence submitted: 16th April 2025
N180 submitted: 17th June 2025
Mediation: 31st July 2025
N279 Notice of Discontinuance: 8th December 2025 (deadline for claimant to pay court fee was in mid December)
I've seen on a few posts that indicated that you ideally like to log the successful defences when possible, so hopefully I have redacted all of the appropriate areas - happy to reupload it if i havent though!
Huge thank you again, very grateful that I could come here and learn from the posts and Newbies Sticky and get a successful outcome. I have another one coming up with Smart Parking/DCBL so hopefully will post that N279 when/if it is issued to me as I am currently following the steps again (except I submitted my defence via MCOL this time as suggested).
Hope you all enjoy the festive season!

It's late - just spotted a minor typo in that the initial ticket was issued in October 2023, not 2024!2

I’ll be having that!Thank you @goodfairymagic for the copy of your NoD. I can now get this counted in the DCBL Legal thread of shame. 👍Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .
I provide only my personal opinion, it is not a legal opinion, it is simply a personal one. I am not a lawyer.
