Worth claiming on insurance?

I lost my keys, the usual locksmith was in bed with flu and the one I got to let me in and change the lock was expensive (around £700).  I can claim the cost under my house insurance with NFU mutual, (I've never claimed on buildings/contents insurance before) but I'm concerned what such a claim will do to my premiums in the future.  Could I have thoughts/advice please?

I wouldn't, have done the same previously and just took the hit, I don't want my insurance rising due to a £700 claim

There will be an excess on the policy and an increase in your premiums for a number of years.    So, you would have to consider whether a small claim like this is worth it.
