Droning noise in kitchen area

Hi
Bit of a strange one this ,    The last few weeks while turning on either of the hot water taps in the. Bathroom a droning noise starts coming from the kitchen sink area,       To get it to stop all we need to do is tap the side of the kitchen sink tap and it’s gone
any ideas what could be ?
also we think it might be happening in other flats in our block ,   As we can hear similar noises from elsewhere ,    Like they are running water and having the same issue
                     Thanks

Somewhere I used to work had the most spectacular, banshee-like groans and, as happens with work places, it was no one's responsibility, we just put up with it. One man used to correct it occasionally then I learned how as well, though it wasn't a permanent solution. It was something to do with water heating in the radiator and the way to stop it was to twizzle the thermostat on that particular radiator then reset it to roughly the right position.

    What's heating the water.
  • There was a constant droning in my kitchen - on investigation  it turned out to be my wife. Bottle of prosecco sorted it out.

Sorry. Not helpful but couldn't resist.
    beat me to it!

Air in the pipes?  Has anyone had any plumbing work done recently?

We had a similar problem after having new shower controls fitted - just took a few good 'burps' to sort it out.

Yeah that is worth a try before calling someone in.

Connect hot and cold tap in kitchen with hose, open taps then go to the top of the house and open taps there, working your way down towards kitchen, then start closing taps from top to bottom, see if that works.

One of those old fashioned hand held shower hoses can be adapted for this.

Something similar happened with us although the noise was coming from the kitchen tap, when taps/showers were running upstairs.  It turned out be a worn tap cartridge valve that was vibrating.
