I've opened a Trading 212 account but it's asking my to deposit 1k - how do i take up the latest MSE offer of depositing £100 and getting £50 of free shares. I can't even find how to enter the code given

Forget the code, it's not necessary. The £1000 always comes up when you start a deposit, just change it to £100 ( delete one zero) and when you invest that £100 the free shares will be awarded, irrespective of using any code.

The £1k prompt is the standard ISA message, not the MSE offer.

To get the £100 deposit and £50 free shares deal, you must open the account through the MSE referral link. You cannot add the code after the account is created.

If you already opened the account, contact Trading 212 support and ask if they can apply the MSE promo. Sometimes they allow it, sometimes they do not.

If they refuse, the only option is to close the account and reopen it using the MSE link, then deposit £100.

Not in my case. I got free shares by just investing £100. No referral link needed.

Thanks to you both, I changed to to £100 and it went through ok. how long does it take for the free shares to show?

Mine was less than 24 hours.
