As above  -  so do the MPs as stated in the Newbies Announcement:-

''Rip-offs from car park Cowboys must stop''; unfair treatment; signage deliberately confusing to ensure a PCN is issued; ''years of abuse by rogue parking companies''; bloodsuckers; ''the current system of regulation is hopeless, like putting Dracula in charge of the blood-bank''; extortionate fines; rogue operators; ''sense of injustice''; unfair charges and notices; wilfully misleading; signage is a deliberate act to deceive or mislead; ''confusing signs are often deliberate, to trap innocent drivers''; unreasonable; a curse; harassing; operating in a disgusting way; appeals service is no guarantee of a fair hearing; loathed; outrageous scam; dodgy practice; outrageous abuse; unscrupulous practices; ''the British Parking Association is as much use as a multi-storey car park in the Gobi desert''; and finally, by way of unanimous conclusion: ''we need to crack down on these rogue companies. They are an absolute disgrace to this country. Ordinary motorists and ordinary residents should not have to put up with this''.

These are the exact words used, so you should quote them to your MP in a complaint."

Having reviewed the opening post dated 17 December 2025, which set out a detailed timeline of events, it appears most matters were already handled independently before joining the forum on 11 December 2025.

In the post of 31 December, i understood the £100 offer was accepted; however, by 5 January 2026 the comments i read  appeared more aligned with the parking companies’ position, which is difficult to reconcile given the personal cost involved.

I am struggling to understand what support was being sought from this forum in the first place.

By contrast, I have an ongoing case with Smart Parking/DCB Legal and will not be paying anything. I would strongly encourage others not to fall victim to these practices.

I hope to all see these parking companies cease operating in 2026 through legislation or insolvency, with their staff moving into legitimate roles that do not rely on exploiting motorists.

Okay, my bad on the vocab, strictly a civil money claim is not started by a "summons", though there are aspects of civil procedure which can involve a smmons, it's not just in criminal cases.

Most of the more recent posts were disappointed in the settlement figure etc, whereas we know of 750 examples of a discontinuation by DCB LEGAL in the discontinuations thread by Umkomaas,  at £zero

Nobody who replied takes the side of the private parking companies,  or DCB Legal,  we know from experience and knowledge how this all works,  especially CM who is on the MHCLG Steering Committee

DCB Legal cases revolve around who blinks first, especially when certain private parking companies are involved

Our replies are based around the private parking industry and civil cases using MCOL, not any other topics

Your Smart Parking DCB Legal MCOLcase will be discontinued,  no hearing,  no Judge , this year
