Cheap Caribbean holiday?

Hi, I'm planning to go to either Barbados or Granada in Feb/March and wondered if anyone can recommend a good place to book through or a really nice but reasonably priced place to stay? Many thanks in advance.

  • Try www.letsgo2.com they have occassional special offers but I have travelled with them and can recommend them.
The best work is the cheapest as the quality remains long after the price is forgotten

I have used holidaysupermarket.com (they do Barbados) and can also recommend tripadvisor.co.uk for advice on hotels.

For Barbados, if you want to save a penny or two then you need to avoid the West side of the island.......that's the nicer side where the film stars and pop stars stay.

Something on the East side (where the water is cooler and rougher because it's the Atlantic Ocean rather than the Caribbean Sea) will be a lot cheaper.

Any advice that you receive from me is worth exactly what you paid for it. Not a penny more or a penny less.

I have been twice to Barbados, first time stayed in Yellow bird Hotel, the second time was their sister hotel around the corner. Both in Christchurch. I have to say the Yellow Bird was great, had a lovely restaurant down stairs, pool - a bit small with garden area and we were on the ground floor so had use of garden with patio. The views were out of this world. Sunsets perfect! Lots of restaurants/beaches around.

I'm hoping to go back next year!

Flew with BA and got very good prices, booked early and went in January which is the hotest time of year and boy it was hot!

if you are talking about this Feb/Mar another possibility would be to keep an eye out for a cheap last minute cruise that would allow you to do several of the islands. not sure if that would be of interest to you though
