  • Hi. I applied for a balance transfer from
my Barclaycard to Fluid, after filling in online form it said the card & name did not match, I realised I had put my husbands card details in by mistake, I deleted & amended  card number, it came back as BT completed. After a week I noticed no transfer had gone through, I rang Fluid twice & they insisted it had gone through,on the 2nd call they gave me the last 4 digits of my card it had been transferred to & I immediately knew that this was my husbands card.
its been a month now, Fluid say it was my mistake & take it up with B/card & they won’t recall payment B/card say Fluid must recall the payment.
I’m now paying 2 payments this month & have no idea what to do. Any help would be greatly appreciated

Firstly, by the last 4 digits you cannot 'immideately know' anything. You need all 16 to know something.
Secondly, if it really was your husband's card number, have you checked whether the money was credited there?
If his card is in credit now, HE can ask Barclaycard either to return the money to Fluid or to send him a cheque.
If the card was in credit, he ows you the money and has to pay it back to you eventually while at the moment at least making monthly payments instead of you.
  • Yes sorry I forgot to say his card has been credited with the amount but he spoke to B/card & they say Fluid has to request money back from his account. Fluid said no they can’t do that up to Barclaycard. So it  goes back & forth & im getting nowhere.

You ignored two IF in my post. Is your husband's account in credit or in debit?
If it's the latter, it's hardly a surprise that Barclaycard refuse to send the money back, but he can probably do this by making a balance transfer from your Fluid to his Barclaycard (for a fee). Also there can be an option to transfer money to his current account.
If it's the former, check the T&C of his Barclaycard. I checked some random and they say:

"If you do have a positive balance, we can return that balance to you, rather than leaving it in the account. If you have a Barclays current account, you authorise us to return any positive balance to that account. If you don’t have a Barclays current account, you authorise us to return any positive balance to the same current account you use to pay your bill. We’ll contact you before transferring the money to give you the opportunity to ask us to return the balance to a different account."

I don't know if Fluid can claim the money back.
  • Thank you for that information. Sorry I forgot to put more information in the comments.
it’s just I am so stressed. My husbands b/card had a small balance owing but is now in credit with most of the balance transfer. He is going to ring B/C again to ask
if they could pay the positive balance into
The  account he pays his bill from.
