Thanks for the carol TAFF I hope you arnt another one that turns into a pineapple although it seems all the rage on here at the minute. The man for the smart meter didn’t turn up yesterday they had to make another appointment for January but they credited my account with 40 pounds so hopefully he will forget to turn up next time I’ve just got in from a cleaning job I’m going up to see my friend I will take here some pie for her lunch and some for later I’m going to stick a couple of scones in before I go it should cheer her up a bit. The district nurse has arranged for a different care team to go in let’s see if these turn up she had one come at twenty to six last night she asked if this was for breakfast lunch or tea she said no I’ve come to put you to bed I’m running late I don’t think she noticed she was already in a hospital bed she can’t move it beggars belief. Thinking of all the poorlies hugs to those that need them have a good day everyone whatever you are doing8

Hi everyone,
Ruby, I'm sure you will have an amazing time. I'm very envious, it's one of the places I want to return to, I could have stood watching the traffic on the Grand Canal all day, the workmen's boats are so much more interesting than white vans. I've told Steve if we go back I must have a ride in a gondola however much it costs.
Gers, when we went to the festival we stayed in an airbnb in Portobello. It was very convenient for the station with great links into the city and next to the sea.
I was just interrupted by Laura who rang in tears. She had taken Esther to a toddler group where they do different activities with different things. Today it was toy mice and big balloons and there weren't enough to go round. Apparently Esther lost it when Laura took things off her to give to other children and a woman came over to her and said she worked in SEN and maybe she should get Esther checked. I said she should have got her name and where she worked and reported her, what an unprofessional thing to do. Of course Laura has taken it to heart but I told her to forget it, she's a completely normal 3 year old, she was sharing beautifully and taking turns with Nate at Center Parcs and neither of the nurseries she's attended have raised any issues, she obviously finds that group difficult with toys being brought and removed before she's had chance to play with them properly, some of the things are only out for a few minutes before they're taken away again so she tries to hoard them, it's a perfectly normal reaction as far as I'm concerned.
Anyway I'd better get on I'm on the last stretch of decorating, hopefully it will be finished by the time Steve gets back from golf an we can put all the boxes in the loft.
Have a good day.9 -
It's a late one from me today so Good Afternoon all! I was up at my usual time but have been a busy bee hence the late post. Usual daily stuff has been done, last bit of kitchen cleaning finished (pity it doesn't stay like that), loaf of bread made and I've had a trip to the local shop. It was a nice walk there and back since we're being treated to a mild and dry sunny day with no breeze at all. After a chilly night it will be all change tomorrow and Thursday when we'll be back to heavy rain - one of the reasons why I did my top-up shop today. When I've finished on here I'm going to wash my hair and try to beat it into submission with the hairdryer (not my strong point) and then get into chill mode with my nose in a book until teatime. I want to finish it so it can go on the Read pile that I'd like to get out of the house before Xmas. Easy meal tonight of chilli from the freezer and rice.
Apparently my broadband contract is due to end mid-January and I'm pondering the renewal offer from my provider; Jan-Apr will be cheaper than I'm currently paying, the next 12 months roughly the same as now and the remainder of the contract a bit more. Before I decide, I'll have a look to see what other providers are offering of course, but am tempted to stay with them rather than faff around changing email address etc. And I won't be taking up the add-ons that I don't need!
@TA - Hope you managed lunch out with DF.
@Ruby - Happy holiday, the Santa Claus water parade sounds lovely.
@-taff - Thanks for the carol - I wonder how many people have covered that one over the years?
@Gers - That was short notice changing your appointment time, I'd have been miffed too. I hope all was well in the end.
@Izzy - How annoying the meter man didn't show up but a welcome £40 credit indeed! Your friend will appreciate your visit and goodies I'm sure. The care worker turning up at twenty to six to put her to bed had my eyes rolling - very reminiscent of the trials I used to have with my late DF's carers.
@snoozer - Poor Laura, that sounds a bit uncalled for; I hope she can ignore it.
Good luck to those still at the present wrapping stage and good days out for those with events to go to. Take care all, stay safe. A wave too to the MIA. XBe kind to others and to yourself too.8
