Morning folks again, coffee in hand. After a day of non-stop rain yesterday, though not quite as torrential as expected, today we are forecast a dry day with snippets of sunshine. And still feeling mild for December.
Yesterday I never got myself moving for some reason and it ended up mainly a day of sloth - again! Today, all being well, I am meeting DF for lunch. I await confirmation as usual! Last week our venue was really quiet for some reason and we got a table in the little room by the fire. It was lovely sitting chatting in peace. I expect today to be busier. I need to get an earlier bus down into town as there are bits I want to get in Savers and H & B. No immediate rush for them if lunch is off!
Have a lovely day folks if you can with ((HUGS)) for our poorlies, sad or lonely. Take care all, be safe xx

Morning All
Thanks for the start TA, hope you get to enjoy lunch.
It's cold this morning with quite a thick fog so will leave a little earlier in case it's slow going. Surprisingly it didn't rain yesterday!
Work was good, 10 minutes in and it was like I had never been away! Parties and good things going on this week so not too taxing. I had a happy hour making lemon curd last night to put with gifts, not too keen on it myself but it's quite theraputic.
Have a great time in Venice Ruby.
Hugs to those not feeling so good.
Take care. XX12 -

Good morning, thanks for starting TA.
I'm late up this morning, after yet another bad night.
It's dull and damp here, this miserable weather is so depressing. I think I started yesterday by saying it was dry, but it didn't stay that way. We didn't get to As*a for the parcels, it's going to have to be today now. The notification of the click and collect time window didn't arrive till late afternoon, but one of us can go today.
Hope you get out for lunch TA. You were saying yesterday about not getting as many cards as you used to - neither have we. Over the last couple of years it's decreased dramatically. I know we're old and friends and family have died, but I think it's mainly the postage. I don't post as many as I used to either.
Hope everyone is ok and has a good day. Take care folks.

Morning all
Dry here but cold and the air feels damp more rain due later. We are off on our canal trip today it’s the Father Christmas one which my people should love.
When I get back I need to pack the remaining bits and get an early night we need to be up at 2 😩 we leave here at 3, I am driving to the airport we got a good deal on parking. I discovered last night that it’s the Santa Claus water parade on Sunday when all the boats and gondoliers cruise down the grand canal filled with people dresses as Santa, I am really looking forward to seeing it, I think it will be magical.
Dinner tonight will be jacket potatoes with a mixture of fillings, we have ham and cheese, or beans, or tuna mayo with some salad.
I got all mums presents wrapped yesterday so she is all sorted now, and I arranged a hairdresser to come to her house Thursday she desperately needs a cut and the lady who usually does it is not replying to any messages.
Have good days all and take care xx10 -
Morning all, thanks TA, hope you get your lunch out.It looks a better day today thank goodness. The park was flooded yesterday. We are off into Manchester later to meet my ex SiL and her DH, they gifted us tokens for a lovely Indian place for our anniversary .It will be a nice change with DH having his op & recovery we haven't been out much.I'd better get the hound out for his walk, then come back and get changed, we are catching a bus from here then a late morning train into M/cr, using our bus/train pass. May get DS1 to collect us from the station later though.Hope you all have good days.Ruby your day out sounds good & have a lovely time in Venice.:heartsmil 'A woman is like a teabag: You never know her strength until you drop her in hot water'. ❄️🎀✨🎄☃️🎄✨🎀❄️
It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas
Everywhere you go
Take a look in the five-and-ten, glistening once again
With candy canes and silver lanes aglow.
It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas,
Toys in every store,
But the prettiest sight to see is the holly that will be
On your own front door.❄️🎀✨🎄☃️🎄✨🎀❄️
Morning! well, it started dry yesterday and finished with a roar...we had some cards to post localy yesterday and I did suggest to OH we go earlier but he decided later, so he got caught in the heaviest rain we had all day, oops...we're off to costco today with his mother for whatever, only bacon and parmesan are on my list, and diesel if it's cheap [ it wasn't last time] . There's not much squeak room for my pennies so hopefully I won't see something I must have. We don't need anything although potentially a slab of lager might make it onto the trolley if OH fancies it. It'll see him through to the new year at least. I've just seen a little wren in the garden, first time I've ever noticed one so I watched it flit about for a while. Maybe some fat balls should be on my list too. I would like to get my hair cut this week but I'm sure between me and OH we can do it, it's more or less a mohican so he can do the sides and I'll do the back and top.
Ruby, that does sound magical, I hope you mke a lot of memories
camelot, good ot hear that you're all back in one piece and not too taxed, lemon curd does sound lovely, can't remember the last time I had some...TA, hope you have your dinner date. Scarlet, sorry you had another bad night, fingers crossed for tonight! Rosy, have a lovely day out! Coxy, I stayed at a premier inn I think, just on the edge of the city but still two minutes walk to some lovely places, and maybe a ten minute walk into the center. The buses are always running straight in, so easy enough to catch one of those too. we did a ghost walk, an Edinburgh gin tasting, went to the castle, went to the museums, it's very compact and easy to get to everything pretty much. with your walking history, it's going to feel like a gentle amble
snoozer, i thought more PA salary would be appropriate
Considering they have moved, you are still as busy as ever
Gers, hope it goes well today! Take care all, shout to the missing and the reading alongs...Non me fac calcitrare tuum culi14 -
Morning all from Mehefinland
Drowned rat anyone? 2 very soggy equines rushed into their stables yesterday and...dripped. I had left them in until about 1030 when the deluge stopped, only for it to start again with a vengeance sometime later. I was in the middle of baking and hadn't noticed, and when I did it was at a critical timing point, so they had to wait a little longer. All dry again this morning but the stables were a disaster area, with soaked bedding. All sorted now.
One of my new springform tins doesn't want to play ball. It won't grip the bottom plate bit properly - as I found out when I stuffed it with cake mix yesterday!! Fortunately I had lined the tin ( even though it's non-stick!) so all was not lost. May just be driver error - I shall persevere. It would probably cost me more to send it back than it was to buy.
Cake turned out ok though , so no real harm -just frustration.
Got to drop off a script and call in the library for a book I ordered. Xmas post arrives today for distribution - doubt there will be many though. The community libraries in the area are doing a version of the 'scout post' to help raise funds. All post has to fall within our areas and there are stringent checks - the guy who organises it all is VERY precise. The cost is certainly a lot less than the 'official' postal service.
Hugs and spoons as always,
Mehefin aka Derek10 -
Morning from a very foggy Paisley. Drive down yesterday was fine, even with two detours. One round the fire site (very short) and one down Glen Croe ( much longer). Just as I arrived at the hotel a text pinged through changing my appointment to two and a half hours later. 😠😠
PI is OK though no restaurant as it’s being renovated. They promised a complimentary continental breakfast but it hadn’t been delivered so only got a coffee. Not a disaster, merely an irritation. Now sitting in the hospital cafe wasting time.Soggy horses doesn’t sound great anymore than soggy people! Thanks for the cheery song @taff. Enjoy Venice @Ruby (again!) please take and post a photo of the Santa canal thing.Hugs to all. 💕11
