Silver and the US

I have been putting money on Silver on the LSE which is working out well but today I noticed that when the market opened at 8am it took a minute or two for the ticker to start updating and then suddenly it shot up quite a lot. I do not believe that the movement was natural as it was too sudden so I really don't think it was due to people buying at 8am.
Then I realized that the price of silver is probably connected to other markets and countries and took at silver based stocks in US and their graph looks extremely similar to the UK one. It also shows that it had gone up after the UK market closed so I believe what happened is that when the market opens it adjusts itself to the current market price that is also influenced by other markets which can make the movement sudden.

Can someone please tell me if I am understanding this correctly?

What's the ticker of the security? What price feed are you using? Some are better than others.

Before the LSE opens there's a 10 minute auction (07.50 to 08.00) where prices are usually adjusted for overnight and morning news etc.. If the auction isn't settled ("uncrossing") it can be extended up to, IIRC, another 15 minutes so it might just have been late coming out of the auction.

What's the ticker of the security?
    SSLN

When I check silver price graphs online it also seems to be quite similar to the graph of this stock so it must be connected?

Of course whoever provides the data that the OP is using might have their own foibles but as the SSLN mentioned is an exchange traded commodity which seeks, through physical replication rather than synthetic method to track the return of the silver spot market the graphs might be connected.
    Indeed king spooky.
