Car Registration Number showing incorrect model/ fuel type on Comparison sites

Whenever my car insurance comes up for renewal I have to input my car details manually, as the car comes up that it is a TDI (Diesel model), when in fact it is a TSI (Petrol model) . All the other details are correct, such as make and model. This also causes a problem when trying to order car parts online.
The vehicle was registered incorrectly with DVLA from new, but was corrected by the car dealership about 10 months ago, and I have a new V5, showing TSI on it, however, it is still showing as a TDI when I go on insurance comparison sites, or try to order car parts by VRM.
Does anyone know how I can get this information corrected please?

It already has been, with the only body with whom you have any direct contact.
The issue is the time it takes for third parties to update their lists, taken from that body. The only issue here is a minor inconvenience - just enter the details manually instead of searching by plate.
It's entirely possible that DVLA have changed the displayed fields, but the type approval and back-end database model description are still based on the incorrect information transferred by the dealer and/or manufacturer at first registration.0 -
Actually it was a DVLA inputting error - d being next to s on the keyboard - as I have seen the information supplied to them by the dealership, which was correct.
It is a bit more than an minor inconvenience, as it does entail more than just manually changing the details every time I want to do a comparison search, and causes problems at garages who order in the wrong parts etc. And, even though I manually change the details and get a quote, as soon as I go through to the individual company website and then enter in my registration number, it seems to override the inputted info and reverts to diesel (perhaps i am too honest, because the quotes are cheaper! But I would not want to be caught out uninsured).
I appreciated there may be a delay in the systems being updated, and this is why I have waited over 10 months before making further enquiries.
I was trying to ascertain if there was anyone else, other than DVLA, who may hold and distribute this information, that I should inform of the corrected details - perhaps MIB?

Th e Police have a copy of the DVLA.
I p/x a car and the dealer sold and notified DVLA but took a long time for the Police to get an update as I received two speeding fines several months later.0 -
AFAIK the police "copy" of the DVLA database is updated nightly.dnpark38 said:Th e Police have a copy of the DVLA.

There are multiple commercial parties who may have an outdated copy of the DVLA list.frustrated_searcher said:

This usually means the DVLA is correct now, but the commercial databases (MID, Experian, Autodata etc.) haven’t updated yet. Best bet is to contact your insurer and ask them to update the Motor Insurance Database, and also email DVLA with a copy of the V5 just to be safe. The parts sites usually refresh from the same data, so once it’s corrected there it should slowly filter through.0
