The wind has stopped here at last, it's so quiet now.
Gers - that's terrible about the fire
Izzy - your poor friend, she's going through an awful time
Camelot - enjoy all the Christmas festivities at school, we take our nursery children across to the main school for Christmas lunch tomorrow.
Redruby - I'm envious, I went to Venice years ago and would love to go back - enjoy x
Sorry I haven't mentioned everyone by name, I've just glanced at the clock and I need to hurry up!
I've got to go to town to pick up an item that was missing from my prescription on Saturday
I hope everyone has a good day x10 -

Morning! It's just cloudy and nothing so far but apparently rain is coming. I'm waiting for two phone calls today so decided I will actually [ possibly, maybe] put my feet up and do some relaxing stuff, knitting, reading, catching up on youtube videos vlogs etc...The lamp making went very well yesterday, it was so much fun, and you come away with something you can later use...I'll post a picture when I'm done, you have to let it dry for two days befoe you grout it and are sent home with a grout kit, extra beads in case any fall off and the lamp base of whatever you chose. I chose the cheapest one becaue it was a birthday present, next time, when I have some readies, I'll definitely choose the more expensive one
I'll reheat leftover takeaway for lunch and tonight we have the extra Jps I cooked in the remoska, so I might take some chicken out for himself to have coronation chicken...[his favourite...mine's tuna mayo and there's some of that left.] He once spent a whole year eating tuna mayo jackets every day for lunch and to be honest, that's something I can get on board with
Gers, that's awful, their poor families..I hope your appointment goes well tomorrow...TA, I remember the days of hving it done when I worked and it wasn't cheap then! Scarlet, how lovely to see that little bit of history..I don't think I've ever seen it..Izzy, your firend must have done something really rubbish in a former life...she's having a time of it..Ruby, sounds like they'll have a fab day tomorrow, and you'll have a lovely time in Venice..Yorkslass, glad he's enjoying the heat!
dp1, good luck with your Christmas tree competition, and glad you dgd perked up a bit with the promise of a holiday...snoozer, sounds a bit busy down your end! camelot, i have a wonky tree too but I've thrown so much stuff on it, you can't tell anymore
Rosy, yum, roast beef, hope the weather is better for you today! Coxy, we will need pics of your road trip
Ruight, I've been trying to write this for an hour so better post and go! Keep warm all!Non me fac calcitrare tuum culi10 -
Morning allAwful news @Gers x always feels worse this time of year tooBeen out to get a dessert for Christmas I saw the other day and didn't have the vouchers with me to get it at a reduced price so that's sorted now.Looks really dark out there but no rain predicted but who knows!Re post. I'm still waiting for a couple of birthday cards I know have been posted. DH spoke to a parcel delivery fellah when he was out walking and he showed him a pic of all the letters piled up back at the sorting office. Apparently they are 20 people short and Royal Mail won't fill the spaces! What the price of stamps they are really taking the mickey! Rant overHave a good day all and keep well x9

Hi everyone,
So far this morning I have tracked down parcels for L and B, opened some of their post that was delivered here (on their request I might add), found and whatsapped a recipe to Laura (also at her request), phoned lego services for the missing piece of lego for the set Esben was making and rearranged dates for looking after Nate. I feel I should start charging for secretarial services!
I now need to get on with a bit of my own stuff before we go across to pick Nate up from nursery and babysit while Chris and Crystal have an evening out.
Gers, how awful. I hope your appointment goes well.
Have a good day.10 -
Morning all, glad to hear it's calmer now where you are @Gers. The rain has moved down here so we're in for a very wet day but it's mild and not windy though, just miserable. Lovely choice of carol @-taff and I'll look forward to seeing a photo of your lamp.
Yesterday I had a very lazy day including an afternoon nap so was surprised to manage a full night's sleep - without a loo break too.
As planned, I had a browse for a calendar but couldn't make my mind up so have parked that for now. I'm not going anywhere today but will make up for yesterday's sloth by giving the kitchen a good clean. Tea tonight is a Spanish omelette with salad, choc ice for afters.
@TA - Xmas cards (both sent and received) seem to get fewer with every passing year but I suppose that's to be expected as we age and people are no longer with us. The exorbitant cost of postage doesn't help either. I'm just as guilty as anyone since my Send list is very short these days.
@Gers - Such a tragedy, I hope the two critically injured will recover. Safe journey to Glasgow, good luck with the MRI news.
@dp1 - Loving the sound of your Xmas jumper!
@Izzy - I'm so sorry your friend is struggling at home but can't say I'm surprised the care people didn't turn up. I'm hoping it's just a glitch and gets sorted sooner rather than later as she clearly needs help.
@mehefin - That Baileys coffee fruit cake sounds delicious - as they say, naughty but nice!
@Ruby - Enjoy your trip to Venice, good job it's not too long a flight!
Right, tea break over so it's off to the kitchen I go. Have good days all, take care and stay safe. XBe kind to others and to yourself too.8 -
Coxy - Edinburgh is an expensive city to stay in, especially if you go in August or Christmas/New Year. If you go outside of school holidays you might find something more reasonable, but their school holidays are usually different to English, at least for some of them. A beautiful city to visit though x5

@Coxy11 We stayed at Pollock halls in August (student accommodation) but found it to be excellent value, great breakfast, parking and central. Not sure if it's still available.

@Coxy11 I've stayed at Leith Water, by the Royal Yacht Britannia, and also at South Queensferry Premier Inn & Inverkeithing Holiday Inn (might be a Hilton Doubletree now). It's cheaper out of the city.2021 Decluttering Awards: ⭐⭐🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇 2022 Decluttering Awards: 🥇
