Morning folks and thanks GERS. It's calm with light rain here too - for now! The heavy stuff is due to arrive mid morning. I'm glad I have no plans of going anywhere.
I am currently skulking in the bathroom with a much needed colour on my hair just now. I get fed up of doing it but pleased when it's done and I have made the effort! Just once I had it done at my then hairdresser and I was there about 3 hours at considerable expense, First and last time, I have better things to spend my time and money on.
I am feeling a bit like Billy no mates when it comes to Xmas cards through the post this time. I've got very few though I know a lot of people are cutting back due to the cost of postage. Such a shame.
I should really defrost the tall freezer. I keep looking and then shutting the door again!
Have a good day folks if you can with ((HUGS)) for our poorlies, sad or lonely. Take care all, be safe xx

Good morning, thanks Gers.
Glad it's calmed down.
Looks dry outside for a change.
I was busy at home yesterday, so we weren't out at all.
Today one of us will have to go to A*da to pick up an order and someone will have to stay in for an expected delivery. I'll fit in a visit to my old friend as well. I didn't go last Monday because I had a heavy cold and didn't want to pass it on.
The Flying Scotsman came through our little station yesterday, going from York to Newcastle. ( I've just said we weren't out at all, we were!) and we went up to see it. There were a lot of people taking photos, dh took some. We've seen it before a couple of times.
Hope everyone has a good day. Sorry to read that your dg d missed her performance Dp1. Take care folks13 -
The rain eventually stopped late yesterday evening and the wind died down completely too, thank goodness
An early morning accidental fire in a flat in town killed a young man yesterday with two others critically injured. It's such a shock for everyone, so awful. The main road is still closed with all the disruption it brought though that's the least of the worries here. 😰 The shock is still running through the town. I spent the day slumped deep in inertia thinking about the young man and his family.Today I'm off down to Glasgow later. I have a very early hospital appointment tomorrow morning so staying overnight so that I haven't got the long journey in the dark. This one is with orthopaedics with news about the MRI I had recently. I need to do a few things here first but am packed ready to go.13 -
A quick hi and dash here
Tipping it down with rain - I’m invigilating all day albeit in short sessions. Have a post office and parcel shop drop off to do as well
take care all

Morning all. Very dark here so haven't ventured outside yet.
Have put some washing in the dryer and taken salmon out of the freezer to defrost. Think I'll make Finnish salmon soup for later; it's very filling but just need to get a couple of ingredients.
Busy playing at a Winterfest on Saturday and then yesterday DH and I did a 3 mile geocaching walk before cooking a mid afternoon Sunday lunch. Today I need to do more food shopping and do a bit of recce for a short break up to see the Falkirk Wheel and the Kelpies. We thought Edinburgh would be a good base but it's not cheap!
Look after yourself everyone and keep out of the shops!13 -
Morning everyone I’ve wrote all this once I don’t know where it’s disappeared to Gers that’s heartbreaking it makes you sit back and count your blessings my friend who is struggling at home her family have been there most of the weekend but they all work so can’t be there through the week it’s a good job they were the care people didn’t turn up the district nurse came later on to give her a jab and she got her on the commode went to empty it and dropped it all over cleaned it up with a pile of wipes and then tried to flush them down the toilet which blocked it she now has to try and get the council out today to say she is fed up is a understatement I have done my balance excercises this morning no falls for me . I’m off to meet my friend this morning for a coffee and a catch up then I need to be back I’m getting a new smart meter this afternoon for some reason then I will go to see my friend who is ill tomorrow afternoon after I have been to my cleaning job shepherds pie for tonight. Thinking of all the poorlies hugs to those that need them have a good day everyone whatever you are doing11

Morning all from Mehefinland
Rained all night and absolutely pouring down now. Have left horses in with big haynets and will review the situation in a few hours. Roads locally have significant surface water and are almost impassable in places. Met a neighbour who had turned his car around to take a different route as the stream at the end of the road was about 2 feet deep and he wasn't going to risk going through it Expect it will get cleared out later as as its the access road to the SAR and Police heliports.
Otherwise a bit of a 'same old' day. Need to do some baking and my order of some new springform tins arrived early yesterday. Evri left the parcel on the doorstep ( unusual as very often around here it's hunt the parcel lol).
I think a Baileys coffee fruit cake is on the cards... very nice it is too.
Hugs and spoons as always, keep dry and avoid the lurgy if you can

RUBY I forget to mention in my earlier post that I was thinking of you yesterday! I caught an oldish Nigella programme at lunchtime and she was in Venice at Christmas time. It looked a fabulous place to be this time of the year. I am envious.
GERS that is such sad news about the fire. These things always seem worse around Christmas but of course it's heartbreaking at any time of the year. Safe drive drown to Glasgow later and I hope all goes well with your appointment.
Once again take care folks xx"If you dream alone it will remain just a dream. But if we all dream together it will become reality"9 -
Morning all, thanks Gers. Glad it's calm there now, raining hard here. How awful about the young man, so sad.I think the dog walking will be delayed this morning as Ldog doesn't like the rain, we only had a quick walk down the main road then back along the path to watch the raging river yesterday.Izzy, your poor friend, that's awful.I agree TA, we don't seem to have got many cards either.Chicken for tea tonight with the leftover roasties and veg from yesterday. We had a surprise visit from DS2 and DGS, - his Mum and stepdad were swimming with the littlies at a pool nearby so it seemed a good idea to meet here, it's quite a bit further to their house since they moved & the roadworks are still causing havoc. We'll need to set off a bit earlier for school this afternoon.Anyway hope you all have a good day.:heartsmil 'A woman is like a teabag: You never know her strength until you drop her in hot water'. Morning all
Dry here for now but more rain due later, I am off to mums today to do some work, we are going to put her decorations up today and then I shall wrap her presents, she is a bit like me in that she hates wrapping and usually just puts everything in bags so I said I will do it for her.
Last day at work for me tomorrow and we are going for a McDonald’s (their choice) and then on a canal trip with Father Christmas which I think they will love.
We did most of the packing yesterday just a few odd bits to put in, I have downloaded a couple of films for the flight, I am not a good flyer at all but if I can watch something it takes my mind off of it.
Dinner tonight will be chicken casserole with rice it’s quick to put together and shove in the oven.
Gers safe trip and I hope all goes well xx
Camelot good luck with the return to work, don’t overdo it xxx
Have good days all and take care xx10
