I am about to submit my defence for a parking charge, Smart Parking / DCBL LTD for overstay on leisure facility car park. The venue has screen to enter your VRM, I did this. I have completed the AOS on moneyclaim and I have used the template in the forum to complete my defence statement which includes that I have proof I was a paying customer on my credit card statement. Should this proof be attached at this stage or do i just state this fact?
Many thanks

No evidence is submitted with any defence

I hope that you are using the Smart Parking template defence in the group thread,  not the catch all defence template in announcements  ?

You need to read the Smart Parking Defence Group thread. No details go in.

  • Thanks for that. Just include the additional 3 paragraphs into the original template.

Yes, then renumber. All done once submitted.

  • I am unable to submit on MCOL - unable to log in. Contacted the court and told that the claim is no longer online and they have sent me the N9B form to complete and the email address to send it to.
Sorry if this is a dumb question - the claim form section of the form is quite small - however once I pasted the defence into it allows me to scroll down and the read it all. However above this section it says if you need to continue on a separate sheet add the claim number to the top right. Has anybody had any issues with this?

Personally,  I suggest that you stick with your defence draft in Word,  complete it, add a header with the reference number etc, plus add a footer with the statement of truth,  add an e signature and save as a pdf document,  attach it to your email and send, checking for the auto response email back from the CNBC in Northampton , like below

    https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/6635441/smart-parking-dcb-legal-court-claim-2025/p5

No need to add UNPROCESSED etc, just add the claim reference number to the header and body

So like this header and footer

    https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/6413799/drpl-county-court-claim?utm_source=community-search&utm_medium=organic-search&utm_term=email+the+defence+e+signature
  • Just email your defence.  No need to wait for the form

Email as a PDF signed under a statement of truth, like we used to do every time, a year ago.

I filed my defence online - received a letter from the court last week December saying that the claimant had 28 days to respond. That time has passed now by over a week and have not heard anything. Does this mean it has been discontinued? will i be notified by the court? I had a phone call from DCB, it was an automated voice asking if i was available to talk - I accepted this but then was left on holding listening to a ring tone for 3 mins so hung up as i was busy. Thanks to everyone for your help.
