I'm being forced to install Microsoft 365

I bought a copy of Microsoft Office because I want to own it outright, not pay a subscription.
I have downloaded the Office Setup program and when I launch it, i get a window headed Microsoft 365 And Office.
I'm concerned that if I proceed I will get charged a subscription for Microsoft 365, which I emphatically don't want.
How do I get just Microsoft Office and not Microsoft 365?

What is the exact name and aged of the package you bought? Is it a retail box from a shop or from a website?

That is installed through the same app once you add your product key and add it to your Microsoft account to allow you to install it. You will not be charged unless you firstly select a different product to install or add extra services (such as increased OneDrive capacity) and secondly unless you also add payment details.
  • You can save some time with the install of your new product if you remove any old versions of MS Office programs that might already be installed (free trials of MS 365 etc) first.
  • I ran the installer and it only installed MS Office, not MS 365

This - I had similar not long ago with a brand new PC.
I ordered an Office licence but kept getting sent to 365
What I had to do is uninstall 365 totally first. There were several versions to uninstall as it seems to install a version for each of multiple languages
