Any recommendations welcome.
I'm new to this and so far haven't needed one but a long shot at identifying a rose 🌹 in my neighbour's garden is one.

Plant.net app works very well for me. It isn’t definitive but will tell you % chances of it being different species based on leaf, berry etc1

I'm new to the app business but have free data for 6mts so want to see how it goes and select before I have to pay for it.

Another vote for plant net. Google Gemini or CharGPT are pretty good at this on their own, without the need for any extra apps.2

Google Lens while not perfect, does a decent job in narrowing down the search of a plant.
While not always reliable, the iPhone has a nifty AI feature where it tells you what the object/plant is: https://support.apple.com/en-gb/guide/iphone/iph21c29a1cf/ios
The above worked well enough for me that I removed PictureThis app.1
