Morning all
Very frosty here but the sun is shining which is nice to see, the wm is nearly finished so that can be hung out once it’s done.
I went and saw the second prospective client on Thursday she was a lovely lady and we got on really well and offered me the job, so I had a good think and decided on the job in the village, I emailed his mum saying that I would love the job but had to put my hourly rate up due to the added duties such as personal care she readily agreed 😃 so I am doing two trial days after Christmas and then assuming we all get on I will do two days a week for them on a very good hourly rate 😃 and being able to walk there in 5 minutes is a huge bonus.
I delivered the neighbours cards yesterday but did no wrapping so that’s to be done later, I only have a few more to do. Tomorrow we will pack for going away which won’t take long as we are only going for five days so taking minimum stuff with us, we will save the room for bringing food stuff back, we always bring a couple of large Parmesan with us and my sister wants one too, and some Christmas goodies will be purchased too.
Dinner tonight will be prawn saganaki which dd will make we will have crusty bread with it, we had the lamb casserole last night with the Idahoan mash which people have talked about on here, I have never tried it before but it was really tasty so will get it again.
Housework will be done at some point today and I have to then start ordering the bits for the utility room refurb.
My sister has got this awful flu thing she said she has never felt worse, we dropped some shopping off yesterday but stayed well away as we don’t want to be catching it, it sounds awful.
Have good days all and take care xx10 -
Morning all, the usual thanks to @Gers and @-taff. Another one here that got up later than usual - it really is hard to drag yourself out of a warm bed, especially when you know there's nothing urgent to be done! I was surprised to see there had been some overnight frost - I don't remember it being forecast - but that's given way to a lovely clear blue sky and lots of sunshine.
The build-up to Xmas is definitely in full swing now with shops getting busier, the postman arriving at 3pm rather than 10am, lots more courier vans delivering parcels, local schools due to finish at the end of the week and our winter bus timetable starting tomorrow. Not long to go, both for Xmas and - better still - a gradual lengthening of daylight hours.
Today's main job is to strip the bed, get the sheets in the WM, dust/vac around the bedroom and re-make the bed. After that, I might be tempted to go out for a short walk (if the weather holds) but there could be fierce competition in the form of a comfy sofa and rubbish TV!
Easy tea tonight of chicken soup followed by a cheese & ham toastie.
@Gers - I'm sure your friend will love the tiny tree, a kind and thoughtful gesture from you.
@dp1 - Pleased to hear LO is back home but sorry she'll be missing the school festivities. Hopefully Butlins will make up a little for that.
@mehefin - Glad you've cleared the air with your lady-friend but I understand exactly what you mean about acquaintances rather than friends.
@Ruby - I hope your two trial days with your new client suit you both, it sounds ideal.
Right, time to stir my stumps. Have a good day all, happy wrapping/shopping/whatever you have planned. Hugs for anyone in need of one and a wave to our MIA. Take care. XBe kind to others and to yourself too.11
