Good morning, thanks Gers.
It seem to be an ok morning, not raining or blowing a gale anyway.
I've got various little household jobs planned for today. The garden could stand a tidy, it's a mess of wet leaves, but it can wait. I noticed that snowdrops are starting to push through, just tiny points at the moment, but it's a nice sign.
Mehefin you're busy at the moment, there's never a dull moment with your horses!
Hope everyone is all right, and has as good a day as they can.
Take care folks.13 -
Morning allBeen up since just after 5 so it's going to be another long day!Plan today is to make Nigella's guinness cake and then put the Christmas decs up. Probably followed by a film before fish and chips for dinner.Any wrapping won't get done until Monday now methinksHave good day all x13

I'm contemplating getting up! I will, just enjoying the last bit of warmth in bed.Yesterday I bought more veggies and collected a new dressing gown and pjs. I didn't have a dressing gown so thought I should have one for hospital and now decided that I don't but will keep it anyway. It's a light waffle cotton one rather than big and fluffy so easy to pack when needed. The rest of day was spent in mostly watching recordings of trashy programmes (comedians wrestling) and then some more serious stuff. Was really shocked at the two-parter about the man who shot a father and son in separate villages. Just awful. Today I need some frivolous stuff, I've plenty on Plex to catch up with.An old friend sent me a text about their lack of the usual Christmas tree as her ill husband needs the space for his chair and the dining room is full of medical stuff and mobility scooter. She sounded so sad about it so I've ordered a tiny tree which comes in a flat pack which goes through the letterbox. I hope it brings some pleasure to their really rough times.I only need to go out briefly to collect meds from the vending machine. We are forecasted to have terrible rain today and tomorrow, the most yet this year. No doubt my cottage will show its two leaks again depending on the direct of the wind. I lit the wood burner yesterday so need to re-lay it later. Then more slothing around. I'm trying to avoid people as much as possible to lessen my chances of catching anything before my op. 🤞🤞
Now I must stir myself. I hope that all are doing well. There so much chasing horses, painting, dancing and a joyous building up to Christmas happening around the board. Today I will write my two Christmas cards and post them off. 😁 Hugs to all.14 -
Good morning all and thanks for the start @Gers. Good to get organised for hospital. We too watched that 2-parter - just so shocking and totally mindless. That letterbox tree sounds lovely - you are a good friend ❤️
I am off out with DSis and Mum today to the local market town. There’s a Christmas craft fayre so I’m hoping to get a few gorgeous things.DH is meeting his old school friends later so I’m expecting a phone call to collect him from the station, hopefully not at midnight!Your horses are very cheeky @mehefin and what’s all this about a date?? Exciting 😊
Have a good day all

Morning! Well, the evening last night was mostly enjoyable except for the bits where there was a lot of musical theatre singing songs no one knew, but the original choir, which the night was in aid of, was brilliant, they were all members of a day care type place, and they were so obviously enjoying themselves, and enthusiasitc, they wee'd all over the so called real choir...good fun...Tonight we have friends coming round so preparations for that will be happening, I have a sticky toffee pudding to make and things to sort out, so out shopping for some ingredients and stuff and a bit of cooking. Bit of a busy weekend for a change, I can't remember the last time I had something on four days in a row...
Gers, hope you stay safe from lurgies! I expect your friend will be chuffed. Chris, good to know your pineapple has subsided. Coxy, have a lovely time, I'm sure you'll pick up something nice, you never know, you might een see Allie there
Right, off to do stuff, take care all, wrap up warm it's a bit parky today....Non me fac calcitrare tuum culi15 -
Morning all
thanks for start Gers, you are right to try to lessen your chances of catching anything - so many germs around at the moment.Coxy - enjoy the crafts - I’m done for this year with fairs, but still making/selling/packing stuff from the online shop. Accordingly, trip to the parcel shop today and some sewing later with the next batch! Also collecting some craft materials kindly offered/donated by a local customer and will incorporate a dog walk while I’m out,
Must do some wrapping and haven’t written cards yet either 🫣
take care all

Morning everyone
DD and little one got home about 7 last night, they were both shattered and went to bed. I had popped round before I came home from work to turn the heating up so it would be nice and warm for them.
I have a list of jobs to do this weekend -this morning a little bit shopping, return little ones' library books and collect a prescription - then finish the wrapping, write cards and finish mams' wrapping.
Gers you're sensible to stay well away from germs, little one will be doing the same next week. DD has told school she won't be back till January now. They're going to Butlins over Christmas so she doesn't want to risk her catching anything.
Right best get on, hope everyone has a lovely day x13 -
Morning folks, thanks GERS We actually have blue sky, in among cloud, at the moment. Will it last.
Flying visit off me, I am just waiting for DS to pick me up for the SS. I am expecting it busier today as last week it seemed to be building up for the silly season ahead. I certainly don't intend going overboard with food and I already have a stash in the overflow freezer.
I'm another up at silly o'clock this morning. I gave up on sleep eventually and came down and sorted the kitchen cupboards out. Not sure they actually look any tidier but odd things have hit the bin that I know won't get used up.
Have a good day folks if you can, ((HUGS)) for our poorlies, sad or lonely. MEHEFIN I hope the horses are not leading you a merry dance this morning. Take care all, stay safe xx

Good morning ( felt like shouting Vietnam!!) from a sunny!! Mehefinland
Spent a large chunk of yesterday whizzing around delivering Xmas cards - still some to go though
.
Today will be mostly taken up with choir stuff- rehearsal at 2 and then concert at 7.30. Have to zoom back and for in between to do the horses and grab a bite plus change into concert gear (Black shirt and trousers), don't think they would appreciate me pitching up in my usual smelly stuff lol.
@Coxy11 my date as such was with the same lady who ditched me before she went to Oz for a month! We have cleared the air and are going to continue as friends. No need to get your hats dusted off lol. Mind you she has said I should meet others - so not quite sure where this is going to go. (tbh I did whilst she was away but nobody that 'sparked' my interest - feel like I'm turning into a real Lothario
). I never anticipated it being so hard to make new friends at my age - acqaintances Yes; Friends.Hmmm not so easy.
Hugs and spoons as always- hope you northerners don't get washed away in the forthcoming rains.
Mehefin aka Derek
