do I pay off one debt first or do I try pay them off altogether

Honestly you are way overthinking this, it should not worry you at all, it may seem that way to you by the amount of contact you are getting, but you are just an account number and a name, nothing more, its all computer generated, no one is going to come to your work, or your home, and if they try to instigate legal action, it can be dealt with.
Have you ever asked them to prove to you that this debt is actually yours?
Have they ever provided a copy of a credit agreement that looked at all vaguely familiar to you?

It could be an alternative option to make a subject access request under gdpr for all personal information relating to that debt. Also, I may be wrong but surely court proceedings can only be taken against a named person and if it’s not your name, they wouldn’t apply to youJune 2026, Mortgage free, Emergency fund fully funded & £200/200 cash maximum pb holding .:jWeight 12st challenge 11st 2lb

Exactly, they have the name wrong, which is why the debt does not show on the OP`s credit report, a CCJ granted in the same name will also not show on her credit report.in_need_of_direction said:It could be an alternative option to make a subject access request under gdpr for all personal information relating to that debt. Somewhere along the line a mistake has been made, and its certainly not the OP`s job to correct it for them.

they call me Mr Todd which is not my name and I think in the past i have asked them to change this and they never did.
So this was your debt, they lent you the money and you made some payments to it and have had some correspondence asking them to correct the name? In this case the error may simply be seen as a "misnomer", which is treated as a minor error, not that the lender has "the wrong person"; they have the right person but the wrong name.
So the lender may well be able to get a court judgment in your real name, and may be able to correct the court claim if it is made under the wrong name.1 -
Long story short it is my debt mistake made on the system I am Miss Todd on there system but managed to pay off EE with bonus got from work. ACI set up affordable plans with them to suit my needs so I am now from my £10k, 2 years ago I am now down to £2000 left to pay so I'm hoping fingers crossed I will be debt free by end of summer. Thanks for all your help.4
