Morning! I'm running a bit late this morning, could not get up and when I did my head is full of cotton wool. Turned out going to the quiz last night solo was worth it, another group joined me, solitarily sat at a table with no mates, and turned out, they were all very friendly, and we came first...it also transpires, most of them no longer have allotments but like the membership so no doubt I'll be seeing them again, and also, the ploughmans was lovely, and we got to take home what was left...Tonight is a choir and concert in a church [ hope I don't burst into flames] and possibly some shopping...I drew on my windows yesterday with Christmassy stuff, you can't see it in the night but you can in the day when it's darker in here than out there. It's not brilliant, but it'll do...

Gers, well done your accountant..it really is a minefield! camelot get on and defrost that freezer! Nah, just kidding, do more socialising and enjoying with your pineapple-less hair ...Izzy, your poor friend...perhaps she should check before she leaves all this in place and not pie in the sky....Rosy, sounds horrendous, hope you don't get that todat and it's smooth sailing driving. dp1, good to hear she's improving, fingers crossed for horses backside. YL, hope he's enjoying himself now! Ruby, sounds all positive then re new people, not so much on the protein bar SHout to the missing, hope you're all good, take care!

Morning all

Not raining here but not sunny either one of those nothing kind of days. I’m off to get my nails done this morning it’s been six weeks since they were done and they are getting far too long for me I like a short nail so I will be glad to get them done.

Dinner tonight will be lamb casserole with either mash or crusty bread will decide later, dd is working a late shift so will eat at work.

I finished the Christmas shopping yesterday including the in laws hamper so I will sit and wrap them up later, I need to deliver the neighbours cards and then I am done, hopefully this will be done this weekend.

DP1 I hope little one can get home today xx

Morning all

Back from food shopping, haven't found a new soap dish yet!

Might do a bit more wrapping later, don't know why I keep putting it off because there isn't alot to do.  Expecting 2 more pressies to arrive today so may put it off until tomorrow instead!

Glad to hear little one might get home today @dp1 fingers crossed.

Hair didn't looking like a pineapple this morning but I seem to be leaning towards a Rod Stewart look now.  Definitely won't have it cut as short as this again

Morning all, thanks @Gers for starting us off today.  I'm pleased to hear your accountant meeting went well, his taking over should make life simpler for you.  Not so good for you though @camelot with a tax demand.

Small shop done yesterday and I enjoyed the walk there and back - 'free' exercise and fresh air, a bit fresher than expected though!  Rather disappointed to see the planters on The Green haven't got the usual mini Xmas trees in them, perhaps whoever looks after them hasn't got around to it yet.  A pleasure though to watch a pair of red kites circling above, their red plumage really stood out against the blue sky.  In the afternoon I had a video call from DS and his partner from the beach that's about half an hour's walk from where they are staying.  Happily, he sounded a lot less stressed than the day before.

Today it's wet and murky out with drizzle/light showers for the most part, drier patches and sunny intervals possible later this afternoon but at least the pesky wind has dropped.  No going anywhere for me though as there's the usual weekly admin and a quick clean around to do.  The Xmas cactus I bought last week doesn't seem happy and has already dropped a lot of its buds    so I doubt it will reward me with any flowers just yet; I think it probably needs to settle into its new home.  On the other hand, the white carnations are looking good and have a lovely light fragrance to them.  Tea tonight is a lemon & herb coated fish fillet with sliced/fried leftover potatoes, peaches and cream for afters.  I seem to have accumulated a lot of bits in the fridge that need using up so will try to work those into meals over the next couple of days.

@camelot - Sounds like you had a lovely day yesterday; I expect next week at school could be enjoyable too if you decide to go in.  Glad your haircut was fine.     

@Coxy - Pleased to hear you had a busy and successful day, wouldn't it be nice if every day was like that!

@Izzy - I expect people are haunting the CSs for last minute presents or Xmas outfits.  I imagine hospitals are needing to free up beds asap because of all the flu admissions but I agree with you that your friend might struggle once she gets home.

@dp1 - Fingers crossed LO can go home today and continues to make good progress.

@-taff - Thanks for the carol, glad to hear you had a better than expected pub quiz night.  I'm sure your artistic window efforts are just fine.  My decorations are pretty minimal this year but they're a nod to Xmas and enough for me!     

@Chrisca - I used to have my hair in a short pixie style until lockdown hit, since then it's been a jaw length bob and is much easier to look after.  I laughed at the Rod Stewart vibe and can't wait to see what tomorrow's comparison will be!      

Right, happy as I am blethering on, I must make a move before the day runs away with itself.  Have a good end of week Friday, take care and keep away from the germs if you can!  A wave also to our MIAs.  X
