Incorrect number plate entered when paying

Hope someone can tell me if this is worth appealing / ignoring / not paying.
My car was damaged in an accident so I was in a courtesy car. I had to enter the reg plate details when paying at a Euro Car Park (on a debit card, so can prove I paid) but I think I put my car details in, rather than the hire car plate. I've now got a ticket via the car repair company requesting £100, dropping to £60 if paid within 14 days. I was parked for 24 minutes, if that's relevant. No photos have been attached proving anything.
The "contravention" is that "no valid pay and display/permit was purchased".
Any advice? Do I just need to suck it up?

They should name you as hirer ( not driver ) to the private parking company, ECP, see the back of their pcn, see the bottom of the first post in the newbies sticky thread in announcements ( because their pcn is not in your own name )
So whose name is on the pcn ? The courtesy car company ? Or yours ?2 -
Thanks for the swift response Gr1pr, really appreciated!
The letter ECP have sent to the car repair company is a Notice to Keeper and no name is specified. The repair company has provided my details to them "to transfer liability for the PCN to you as the hirer." (my emphasis).
I haven't received anything from ECP directly yet.

Very good.
Read the company / lease car section at the bottom of post 1 of the NEWBIES thread.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
CLICK at the top or bottom of any page where it says:
