Avon product return.

I recently bought a skin care product from my new Avon lady. It is a face skin serum. I have very tolerant skin and don't normally suffer reactions to products. However I used this product for 3 days am and pm after washing my face and each time it left my skin burning and irritated. So I tried it one more time without washing first and got the same reaction.
I asked the agent for a refund and was told as I had opened it they will not accept a return and will not give a refund. 
Do I have any rights in this situation?

What reason would you be claiming a refund under?

It may not be suitable for you but that doesn’t mean it is not fit for purpose or faulty.  Others may not have the same reaction. 

You could try contacting Avon direct yourself and explain the problem.

Unfortunately you have no right to a refund because of an allergic reaction unless you can prove the product contains known harmful ingredients.
