Thanks for starting us off @Gers Morning all.Had a clumsy day yesterday. Broke a china soap dish while cleaning the bathroom. Didn't realise how far these bits can fly. Heated up some milk in the microwave to have with my coffee and caught it on the handle getting it out. Milk went everywhere and handle of mug broke off. Bought 2 mugs while in New York that me and my colleague of 25 years had our cuppas in at work so sad as it had sentimental value. Had a consult with surgery re blood pressure readings so have to take a higher dose now. Had my hair cut and asked for it to be a bit more layered on top. Got up this morning and looked in the mirror and it looked like I had the top of a pineapple on my head. Having a quiet day today
So sorry to hear that your little one will miss her Christmas activites at school @dp1 . Hope she feels better soonHave a good day all x12 -
Morning Gers and all to follow. I hope you survived the storm with all intact. We are forecast a fine day with sunny intervals and a gentle breeze here. Probably for one day only!
I had a stupid night of dreaming which kept me awake most of the night and had me up at silly o'clock. Probably a nana nap later. I'm avoiding looking in the mirror after the hairdresser's scissors were flying yesterday. She's always the same when relating work problems (her main job) I feel scalped!
I still have presents to wrap! My delivery of stocking fillers didn't arrive until gone 5.00 yesterday and I cba starting the job by then. I'm going to do that first job this morning and can finally say everything is bagged/wrapped! Apart from youngest DGD's main present which is on order from her gymnastics club (new design track suit) I just hope I get it before Christmas.
Then the usual Thursday jobs will follow, cleaning kitchen and bathroom. I know how to live it up! I think I will get one of my minced beef pie slices out for dinner, probably have with mushy peas and some air fryer wedges.
DP1 I shall feel so sorry for your little DGD if she misses out on all the Christmas fun at school. The poor little mite. RUBY I hope the meeting with the prospective new clients went well. Have a good day everyone with ((HUGS)) for our poorlies, sad or lonely. Take care all, be safe xx
Sorry CHRISCA cross posting. I share your pain with the pineapple style haircuts! I look just the same this morning!"If you dream alone it will remain just a dream. But if we all dream together it will become reality"12 -
Now all shiny, washed and dressed. Taking off night clothes is not good then it gets even more not good when putting on day clothes - so cold! Only 10 days to the longest day and the light will slowly creep back to us.Oh @Chrisca - what a weird day you had. Sorry about the mug especially. @TA - your hairdresser always scalps you!During the storm my TV Freesat signal was lost as well as the Freeview one. I was able to see what I wanted on my laptop and iPad so was fairly content. Last night the only local dish guy texted me at 6p.m. to say he was just leaving Tarbert and would be with me soon - no more than a 40 minute drive - he turned up at 8p.m. He'd had a panicky call from an old(er) woman about missing the final episode of Shetland.
He was out in the pitch dark, gusting wind and heavy rain up a ladder tweaking my dish, he was unconcerned whilst I was worried. The funny thing is that he just parked in the middle of the track and said he didn't think anyone would be out and about. Anyway, all sorted, he does it for pocket money so hardly takes anything. This morning I have an appointment with an accountant, I need to deal with HMRC and feel unable to get through the complex mysteries of their workings so am resorting to professional help.Whilst I know that I owe tax on interest I can't find out exactly how much and have even sent in a complaint. I spent the greater part of yesterday pulling together various documents and info which are all on a USB stick ready for him to print out and scour. Not exactly looking forward to it it but has to be done.I hope that all are well, especially @DP1's little one and all those who are struggling with ill health. xx10 -
Morning all and thanks for the start @Gers hope you’re okay and the storm didn’t cause too much disruption 🤞🏻
A day off for me and I was meant to be meeting a friend at a NT property for a walk and nose around the house, followed by lunch - however she’s just messaged to say she’s unwell. Work was busy yesterday and expecting more of the same tomorrow. Not sure whether it’ll revert to one day again from
next week - waiting to hear.It comes in 3’s @Chrisca50! I had the fake charity donation, then dropped a posh (recycled plastic) shower gel in the shower which shattered, then the wreath making group debacle all in one day!Still no wrapping done here and still few gifts to buy. I’m going to a craft fayre on Saturday so hoping for some inspiration there!Sad about DGD missing the Christmas school fun @dp1 - poor little love xxx
Hope the meet up with the new people went well @RedRuby1231 x.Glad the tech worked well @YorksLass and hope DS and partner had a safe journey xx.Have a good day all

Morning all
Yesterday’s lunch was lovely, and there’s no rushing so we sat at the table for nearly 4 hours. The journeys there and back were both awful with roadworks and accidents; on the way back the road was closed just 4 miles from home which resulted in a horrid detour down very wet lanes, through a ford and an extra 30 minutes.Today I’m taking DF to his physio for his ongoing knee pain. A pop in to the fabric shop on the way back as I have loads of Christmas orders to sew - 🤞 they have the fabric (I’m 99.9% sure they have) as it’s the first time I’ve taken orders for things when I haven’t got the material let alone made them!
best wishes to those under the weather and hugs for DP1s LO

Morning All
Very blustery this morning but dry so far. I saw some sunshine yesterday - in between torrential showers!
Busy morning at work with the Christmas show and Nativity (the little one was a narrator and was fab - I was very proud!). Sorted what we need for the parties and will call at the SM before I go in today. The show is on again this afternoon so will help with selling the programmes again.
I have a haircut this evening - hope I don't join the pineapple club!
Great the chap could fix your dish Gers - great service. Hope all goes well with the accountant.
Here's hoping you have a better day Chrisca.
How was your Christmas party Ruby?
Happy wrapping TA!
Thanks for the Christmas songs taff.
Get well wishes for the little one dp1.
Have a good day, take care. XX11 -
Morning everyone well it’s dry and we had a beautiful pink sky when it eventually got light . I’m helping out this afternoon in the charity shop the manager is at a meeting and they are short staffed guess who has the keys to look after I never fail before that a lady I clean for volunteers me to give out the Xmas post for the chapel they go to I’ve done it for the last three years but they are giving me a bigger and bigger route every year I’m afraid that’s going to get knocked on the head after this year I told her I didn’t have time to do it she informed me that they were going to bring the cards to the charity shop for me to save me having to pick them up at the chapel I am going along today to tell them this will be the last year they see me coming. DP1 I’m sorry to hear about the little one what a shame when she was doing so well . Well done YL I’m hopeless with technology it took me years to fathom out how together on here I still have to check it’s worked every time I write something and as for doing fancy lines and names in bold letters forget it it’s never going to happen. I hope the pineapple club have a better day . Right off to get my postie legs on thinking of all the poorlies hugs to those that need them have a good day everyone whatever you are doing12

Morning everyone
Thank you all for your good wishes for little one. DD said she'd been a bit happier, yesterday, had a little walk round the ward and had read some books. They had tried to get her off the IV glucose and back onto her usual pump feed and she'd been screaming in pain and retching, so she'd been given a stronger enema, which has hopefully worked.
Fingers crossed she'll pick up a bit more today.
I'm going to get on with some wrapping this morning, hopefully I'll get it finished, though I might have to continue after work. Still haven't written any cards so will get those done over the weekend and I've also got mams wrapping to finish. Tea will be a very easy pasta bake, cooked in the airfryer.
Hope everyone has a good day today x10 -

Morning! Sunny here, and what a difference that makes. OH did nothing in the end yesterday, but wanted an Indian for supper so that was that. I think we're going shopping for a new phone for him today, someone is picking up the baubles and garland I gave away, a friend has found someone who can do woodchip and I'm off out to the allotment quiz tonight. I forgot to put out the milk holder last night so I have a very soggy card from the milkman who has changed from Clay to Harry this year, so must remember to put one out for him on the weekend. I also got a letter from HMRC telling me I had a tax rebate so much fun was had trying to firstly set up a gateway account, only to be told I already had one, only to try and find the numbers and password again, verify it was me, so after about three quarters of an hour installing the app, verifying my self twice with passprt and drivers licence, getting the numbers wrong, getting them right, I finally clicked on yes please, give me my rebate. So that was fun...
Chris, sorry about your pom pom pineapple, just think, you'd have been the rage in the eighties...:) Sorry about your mug, dish and blood pressure too, is that the three things done now? TA, well as you say, it will grow..Funny thing is, I always think my hair is longer when they've finished at the hairdressers, ask them to cut more off, then I come home, look in my mirror and think, where's my hair gone? Gers, sounds like he needs a community medal for maintiaining community happiness
Good luck with the accountant..Coxy, sorry about your threes too. Allie, at least the lunch was lovely! Happy crafting when you get your fabric, hope your dads knee improves too. Camelot, well done your little one! dp1, can she not just go in for the play? Izzy, yeah, I often see when people do things out of the goodness of their hearts, they just get more stuff pushed on them...you must learn to say no beforehand next time
Ruby, hope the new potential client is nice, did you get any reposnse re the gout? Well done all of you who scored ys stuff too! Take care all, hope the weather improves for those with the rubbish stuff...Non me fac calcitrare tuum culi7 -
Morning all
Dry and sunny here but very cold 🥶 I much prefer this to the constant rain.
The meeting went very well yesterday I walked there is six minutes 😃 really nice young man and his mum in a beautiful house, the young man is in a wheelchair and cannot speak but has full understanding, he uses a computer which he controls with his eyes to communicate, they have a heated pool building in the garden and he loves to swim and she said I could get in when I like. The only thing that is worrying me slightly is that you have to help him wipe after using the loo 💩 I am not very good at this I’ve only ever done it a few times and gag so badly that I am nearly sick, and I don’t want him to feel embarrassed about it, I will explain this to his mum and see if she will be ok with this, I don’t mind for me but would really worry about him feeling bad.
I have another meeting today with another lady and will make a decision after that but the appeal of walking to work is a big plus.
I have a phone call with the GP next Tuesday to discuss what’s to happen going forward. The party went well apart from one of the guests wrapping up a protein bar from the cupboard at home and giving it as a gift to one of the other guests 😂🙄 she was quite upset to receive it but I have contacted his carer and they will make sure he gets something a bit better for next week.
Sorry for those with a pineapple hair do - hopefully it will settle soon x
Izzy I don’t blame you for telling them it’s your last time some people take the p**s !
Dp1 poor little one I hope she feels better soon xx
Have good days all and take care xx9
