It's not exactly complex to avoid...
If your car is not actively taxed and insured, SORN it (free, takes seconds) and make sure it's parked on private land.
It's nearly 30 years since SORN was introduced, and over half that since continuous insurance. There is zero excuse for not knowing.0 -
You can set up a direct debit so it auto renews and or set a reminder on the DVLA site and it will send you an SMS reminder.0
