Ebay Delivery Times

Has anyone else noticed that when the seller states delivery in 2 to 3 days it is really 3 to 7 days and nearer 7 days?

My last 5 orders from Ebay sellers were like that, delivery in 2 to 3 days then when the email comes confirming the order the delivery is 3 to 7 days and of course the delivery comes on day 8.

I have an Amazon prime subscription and now I have started to order a lot of low cost items from Amazon that I would previously have ordered from Ebay because the postage was cheaper or free.

Does anyone feel slightly guilty ordering a £3 item from Amazon and getting next day delivery?

This is a known issue and drives us sellers crazy as well with unrealistic delivery estimates. We are reliant on couriers or RM and regardless of how we set our despatch times ebay tell the buyer stuff will arrive almost instantly.

Yes which is why I don't do it* unless in rare, truly exceptional circumstances.  I usually wait until I have a few low value items that I need to buy from Amazon, or a higher value thing to order along with the low value item to make the delivery journey worth it.  Sometimes it's even regular food items that I might normally get elsewhere but they're just as good value on there, so I add those to better justify the delivery.

Or I ask if anyone else is planning to buy anything in the next couple of days and then choose 'Amazon day' so it's just one trip - I really like that feature in terms of reducing the delivery impact.  It's a good option for anyone regularly finding things they need to buy on different days and they're not urgent.

*the subscription is not mine, it's another family member's in the household which we all share, which I understand makes it a different equation from if I were paying.

I live fairly remote, just a few houses, and Amazon seem to go past every day anyway.
