Car insurance - 5 year declaration for points/penalties

I've just changed provider for my car insurance.
The documents received show no convictions or penalties in the last five years. In fact I have an SP30 from October 2021 (three points).
I called to correct it only for the call handler to tell me that they have my driving licence details and they check directly with the DVLA.
I pointed out that the points disappear from the DVLA record after three years but the insurance declaration requirement is five. The handler was quite insistent that the "none" statement on their documents was correct.
Anyone know if she's right? I'm tempted to follow up with a letter or email to cover myself.

Even if they check with DVLA it will come back as no points if 3 years has passed. The only way for a compnay insisting on a 5 year declaration to confirm would be to check with your previous insurers to see if you have declared points gained in the last 5 years on previous policies
...however, it sounds like your previous insurer is insitent that you have no points from ther perspective, so that would back this up in your case.
Regardless, I have always found that declaring 3 points previously has made no difference to my policy quotes, even 6 didn't.... and I did once trying running a quote with 9 points out of curiosity which actually resulted in a LOWER quotation!
