Morning all
Its been raining most of the night but stopped for now, more due later though.
I am off to meet a prospective new client that 12, they are in the same village as me and I can walk there in about five minutes, he is a young man in a wheelchair which is all new to me but I will see how we get on. I have another lady to meet tomorrow too.
I have had no contact from the dr so will complete an e- consult today, I just need some advise really to be able to control the pain etc, thanks for the good wishes.
Dinner tonight will be ham egg and chips from the gammon I cooked, we had some yesterday in a carbonara which was very tasty.
After my appointment I have to go and collect mum from the hospital she has an eye appointment this morning, she may have to wait a while for me but she said she would rather that than a taxi.
Glad everyone was safe in the storm xx
Gers we are off to Venice a week today 😃
Have good days all and take care xx9 -
Morning all, thanks @Gers for today's thread and thanks too @-taff for the carol. I can never remember what each day's 'present' is beyond the five gold rings!
Yesterday I won the battle of getting things in the freezer; admittedly not everything is in the drawer I want it to be in - but it's in!
Last two presents wrapped as well. Everything was going swimmingly until just after 5pm when the lights went off - yes, a power cut.
Tea lights etc found and texts duly received from Powergrid with updates. Fair play to them, we were up and running again in just under an hour so not too much of a hardship. I forgot to re-set the bedroom clock (electric) so had no idea what time it was when I woke up this morning but guessed from outside noises it was about my usual time and it was. Clock now re-set.
Last update from DS was a photo of him and his DP in the airport lounge waiting to board the plane. That was around 7.30pm; no doubt I'll get an update at some stage today.
It was very windy last night as well as wet and I think some people may have been retrieving their bins this morning. After a rainy start to the day the sun is out and skies are blue. It should stay dry but of course there's the usual proviso of possible showers. This afternoon looks a better bet for a trek to the CS (fingers crossed) so I can get the donation bag out of the way.
@Chrisca - I bet that was a doh! moment.
@mehefin - Thanks for the greeting; I confess I had to google it. Every day's a school day.
@Ruby - That sounds like a busy day for you. Good luck with the prospective client meet-up.
Have a good day all, stay safe and dry if you're out and about, take care. Hugs for the Poodles. XBe kind to others and to yourself too.9 -

Good afternoon
Sunny out but still breezy. We has strong winds yesterday but escaped the rain.
I've spent this morning portioning up the 2 sides of salmon I got, 7 meals there for both of us. I've meal planned up until Sunday, so to make more room in the freezer, however tonight is ham egg and chips. I got some nice ham from Ald*, so should be tasty.
Staff, a belated happy birthday to you, and birthday wishes to Mr taff. And many thanks for the daily carols.
Dp1, little one is in my thoughts, sending love and hugs to her.
Ruby, hope you get something sorted out soon, gout is so painful. Good luck today meeting your potential new chap.
Sorry to anyone I've missed out, take care all.

Hello everyone
Thank you so much for all your good wishes for little one. Sorry I didn't get on yesterday but there was no news till later on anyways.
They tried the medicine through her feeding pump but nothing happened so she had an enema at about 8pm, which left her very sore but cleared the blockage. They think it will take her a week to recover, so it looks like she won't be back at school till January, which is very sad for her missing out on all the Christmas activities. It should mean, hopefully, she is ok for Christmas and her birthday.
No idea yet if she'll get home today, they had said yesterday they might keep her in another 48 hours, will find out later.
I've been to mam and dads for a cuppa this morning and then to Lidl for some Christmas bits as I had a £5 off voucher and some other offers, including half price boxes of biscuits.. Also collected 2 parcels for DD from their lockers...that was a new experience!
Right must dash I've got to pop into town...then it will be a cuppa and a cake with my friend when I get back....that's if I don't blow away - it's wild here
Hope everyone has a good day13 -
Thanks so much for the update @DP1, surely it's been distressing for your little one though she'll feel so much better now. Such a shame about the Christmas stuff at school - perhaps your DD could ask to get some photos or even a recording of the play? Not sure if the school will be iffy about GDPR!10
