Market moving when closed

On Trade212 I cannot sell or buy shares when the market is closed and yet the share prices moves quite a lot on some stock.
Can someone explain how it can be possible for prices to change which would mean that there are shares being sold or bought?
Some changes are quite significant. Are there big investors that are able to do this outside market hours?

Which stocks have you observed this on?
For US stocks there are functions to trade outside market hours but T212 enables this (they call it 24/5 trading).0 -
Stock markets move when closed primarily due to after-hours and pre-market trading reacting to important news (earnings, economic data, global events) released outside regular hours, altering supply and demand, and influencing the next day's opening price, creating overnight gaps and volatility.0

Can you be more specific? Sometimes it's bad data from the data providers that corrects itself when the market reopens.Uriziel said:On Trade212 I cannot sell or buy shares when the market is closed and yet the share prices moves quite a lot on some stock.

Sounds like out of hours trading to me, If you try to trade out of market hours on Trading 212, it does give you the option to place the order out of hours, but gives a list of caveats / risks to consider.
We did try this once with a small purchase, but it didn't execute until the NASDAQ opened the following morning anyway. Maybe the liquidity or the purchase price submitted by T212 was too low, or the marked moved against us?
• The rich buy assets.
• The poor only have expenses.
• The middle class buy liabilities they think are assets.0 -
I was not aware that you can still trade when the market is closed because it tells me that it will be done when it opens.
How can I also trade after hours or is it not possible on Trade212? I do have the 24/5 enabled but I think this just means that I can see the price updating, not that my trades go through0 -
It depends on the market. It's usually only the US markets you can trade after hours.Uriziel said:I was not aware that you can still trade when the market is closed because it tells me that it will be done when it opens.
