British Gas contact number - no account details

Hi, my employer has received a text message with a payment link from BG. We have a number of properties with Homecover and the amount of £60 is a feasible excess. We have recently had all of the GSC's & services carried out and there were no issues. However, we have not arranged for an engineer visit, so have no idea what this relates to and certainly do not want to click on the link to make a payment without this knowledge.
Is there a number that I can actually contact to try and establish what this, every number requests an account number. I tried customer services who gave me a number, but again I need to give the account number, so currently going round in circles. Happy to pay for it if it is legit.
TIA

Sounds like a scam to me. Here's what BG say at https://www.britishgas.co.uk/help-and-support/my-account/accessing-your-account

Think you might have got a text from a scammer? Let us know by taking a screen shot of the text and email it to our phishing team on phishing@britishgas.co.uk for us to investigate. Then delete it. Do not click any links in the message or reply or call the sender. Please also block the sender’s number.

Let the employer contact them via the details they have.
Odds on they will not talk to a random 3rd party with no account details.Life in the slow lane1
