I took a leaf out of TA book last night put some Christmas music on and did most of the wrapping. Have to admit not something I enjoy although I did chuckle when i was wrapping some gifts in boxes to hide what is inside.

Wet here this morning, will pop out shortly to do food shopping, luckily car park is under our shop.

🎂🎂Happy Birthday for today @Taff - hope you  have cake and fizz.  And happy birthday to MrTaff for tomorrow. 

I've laid the fire, heated soup for the flask and brought out the jelly babies!  Candles sorted too.  Blankets out. It's already very dark here. I've fully fuelled the car in case I have to beat a hasty retreat!

Morning everyone happy birthday Taff i hope you have a lovely day whatever you decide to do . DP1 I’ve got everything crossed it’s good news for little one today I understand your feelings I feel angry for her I know there was a lot less money about when we were young but I remember the times with my grand parents but none of there gifts they taught me so much silly things like how to play snap how to sew how to light a fire how to build a bonfire and put potatoes on it to cook I know they would probably get arrested now but it’s all happy memories for me and I wish I had them for longer . SO hope you are alright stick your head around the door and give us a shout we are all here for you . We have lots of poorly folk on here I hope you all perk up for Santa. I’m off to Iceland to spend some savings I have on a card and it’s pensioners discount day I’ve give up thinking how I’m going to fit it in the freezer. I’ve just finished a cleaning job and I’m going to take the dog out in between showers we need to fill the car and get a bag of dog food it will last us over into the new year then I only need a bit of fresh stuff nearer the time and I’m done we won’t starve it’s impossible. Thinking of all the poorlies hugs to those that need them have a good day everyone whatever you are doing

Thanks @Scarlet for starting us off today and a good morning to all, even if the weather isn't good.  Here we're in for yet another wet and windy day but thankfully the worst of Storm Bram should bypass us.  Incredibly mild too for December.

@-taff - Thanks for the carol and very Happy Birthday to you today and also your DH tomorrow.  Have a wonderful time.

I had a productive day yesterday and got done all I'd intended to do including putting up sparkly things.  All the decluttering I've done over the last year is definitely paying dividends - the sticky hooks I needed were exactly where they were supposed to be.     And I've added a few more bits to the CS bag to be delivered either tomorrow or Thursday (weather and mood dependent).  

For the first time in years, my Xmas prep is organised to the point that the Xmas To Do list now has more on the Done side than is waiting to be done.  I'll be able to tick off a couple more things when my grocery delivery arrives later today as I'm getting everything I ordered, including the last two presents to be wrapped this afternoon.  Only three things for the freezer but I suspect some contents re-organising could will be needed.  I've already taken out a tub of soup and some crumpets and there's a few other things that could be transferred into smaller containers or bags, so all should be well.

DS 'tested' me yesterday with using the new-to-me phone - text message, phone call and video call, all successfully executed.  Maybe I'm not the Luddite I thought I was!     He and his DP fly off tonight and this time tomorrow will be in Brazil where it will be the beginning of their summer.  Long flight though, 13 hours!

@dp1 - I'm so sorry to hear LO is ill again, poor mite.   Fingers crossed you get better news today and she bounces back quickly.

@Ruby - Yep, it definitely sounds like gout.  You have my sympathies; DH had it so I know how painful it can be.  Next steps will probably be a daily tablet, for life unfortunately, but they do work.

Have a good day whatever you have planned, be it shopping/staying at home/out for celebrations.  A wave to our MIA - pop in when you have time or the inclination, even if you don't have much to say, 'cos we miss you.  Take care, stay safe (and dry!).  X
