Morning Scarlet, Morning allJust seen your post from yesterday @dp1 Fingers crossed little one is better this morning and it isn't appendicitis. Totally understand your feelings, I think we'd all feel the same xOff out to a specific supermarket this morning. I saw a lovely frozen dessert for Christmas in one of their handouts and they didn't have it in store when I was there on Friday so I'm going to a different one this morning to see if they have it in case they're sold out by the time I go to my usual one on Friday. Wht a palaver!Nothing else planned but I might do a little wrapping when I get back if I'm in the mood.Have a good day all xx11

Morning again, seems dry, yesterday wasn't bad either.
I didn't go to visit my elderly house bound friend like I normally do on a Monday. I've got a heavy cold and she is vulnerable, she has some serious health conditions and is frail. I spoke to her though, and she's ok, I'll probably get up to see her next week.
Yesterday I was moaning about grandchildren and Christmas gifts, so last night I browsed the W**ked Un**e site and ordered some good presents for dgs, and dd suggested that we buy him some shoes that have lights in the heels, he's had his eye on them apparently.
Thanks to Dp1 and WeeNancy for their suggestions, I'll definitely think along those lines.
I'm not planning to go out today, well, apart from the quiz tonight. I must start wrapping presents and drop this idea that Christmas is weeks away. When I worked I was organised about Christmas, now I'm far too carefree.
Sorry to hear that the little one has been in hospital again Dp1, I hope she'll soon feel better. It's lovely that you give her so much time, that's the best gift of all.
Hope you had a nice day out WickedLady.
Haven't heard from Silver-Oldie for a few days, hope she's all right.
Hope everyone else is all right as well, keep safe and warm folks.13 -
Morning all. Thanks for the start @Scarlet. Good luck in your search @Chrisca.Today we have both a yellow rain and a flood warning, all the way through to midnight. The amber wind forecast just skirts round here though the storm could well move anywhere. I hear that it's already affecting places down south. I'll get the torches out and set the wood burner ready to go if the power goes out.So sorry to hear the latest news about your beloved little one @DP1. Fingers crossed that it's not appendicitis although the other thing is still not wonderful. I'm sending her a wee gentle hug. 🥰
I hope that everyone can stay safe, warm and dry!11 -
Morning everyone
A quick hello as I am working, plus trying to fit in dropping off orders at the PO and some Christmas shopping afterwards whilst hoping I can park somewhere close enough so I don’t get drenched!Best wishes to all including the poorlies, and especially DP1’s LO

Morning All
Very rough out this morning, I'll take the car to do some shopping for the fruit hampers that I make up for a raffle at the Christmas shows - my contribution to the school fund each year. Instead of raffle tickets we number the programmes which is quicker and easier to manage.
I didn't get the paint yesterday as I ended up meeting DD and doing a bit of Christmas shopping - only a couple of things to get now, nearly there!
I wrapped the rest of the things I've bought so feeling fairly organised. Thankfully I don't have to do the food shop as we are going to DS2s on 22nd until boxing day.
Sorry the little one is unwell again dp1, fingers crossed she has a speedy recovery. I'm the same with my little one, we spend a lot of time together, not money, she has a Granny for that!
Scarlet my DD always gets DS1's children an 'experience' and dinner out as a Christmas present, something to do after Christmas and spend time together. Hope your cold isn't too bad.
Lots to do today including taking the little dog out although I suspect it will be a short walk if the weather's bad - she's not a lover of rain!
Take care. XX11 -
Morning all
Dry here for now but more rain due later, I have my two people coming today and my friend and her client are also coming over, we are having our Christmas party as we do every year, we all buy some bits of food and have a lovely picnic lunch and watch Christmas films and exchange presents it’s usually a good day.
Dinner tonight will be carbonara with a gammon I cooked yesterday, the rest of the gammon will be for tomorrow with egg and chips. I got some half price lamb and beef in Mr T yesterday which have gone in the freezer for next year, we also got the meat for Christmas so mum is happy now 😃
I also went for a blood test yesterday and got the results back last night, my Uric acid is very high, over double what it should be so it’s almost certainly gout, I will wait for the gp to call as to what the next steps are.
DP1 poor little one I hope she feels better soon and doesn’t have to have an op, she has been through so much bless her xx
Have good days all and take care xx

Morning everyone and thanks for the start @ScarletRibbons x Sorry to hear you’re poorly - there’s so much of it about. Hope you get your gifts wrapped today. I agree, when I was working FT I was super organised but now I have more time I’m a bit slack!
I’m working today - not sure how many hours as colleague has an eyelash appointment this morning and is taking her DS to the orthodontist this afternoon. We have freebie tickets to a local panto this evening with DSis and BIL which will be fun.Dinner will be something from a street stall probably as there’s a Christmas market in the theatre town.Hope little one rallies @dp1 x.Yes @YorksLass I think that film was a remake. I haven’t seen the original but don’t expect the colourful language would have been allowed back then. Honestly so bad, and right from the off!Fingers crossed you find the dessert @camelot1001
- is it the one with the face?!Hope your London walk was good @WickedLady4 x.Have a good day everyone

Morning folks and thanks SCARLET. I hope you soon get rid of your nasty cold. It's a dark and dismal start here with rain set in for the day. Not forecast to be heavy and gusty winds at times. Lovely!!
It's lunch day with DF today, unless I hear differently! I still need to go out though as I have some meds to collect, gift cards to buy and money to draw out for all the gt nephews and nieces money envelopes. Eeek! An expensive morning! I also want to have a quick scout around for a new Christmas jumper as my current one has seen better days. Bon M will be my first port of call for something cheap and cheerful..
I was quite pleased with myself yesterday to get the gift wrapping underway at last. I'll resume when (if!) RM deliver my B**ts parcel tomorrow. It's a tedious job.
DD and eldest DGD are off to Liverpool today for a couple of days. This was to be her 21st birthday treat in August but the fractured ankle and 3 month recovery put paid to that! Better late than never then!
DP1 your post reminded me of my DM's favourite saying - The greatest gift you can give someone is your time - and you certainly give your DGD that. I hope she soon recovers from her latest health problem. Have a good day everyone and I hope if the storm hits your area it's not as bad as forecast. Take care all. SO I know this time of year is a bad one for you, I hope you are ok. ((HUGS)) all, xx"If you dream alone it will remain just a dream. But if we all dream together it will become reality"10 -
Morning everyone
I think we're all waiting for the storm today, just heavy rain here at the moment. I have to go out earlier than usual to have my blood pressure checked at our local hospital - good job I wasn't there yesterday!
Thank you all so much for your good wishes for little one, I'm hoping for good news later
Best get my lunch made, hope everyone has a good day x11 -

Morning all! My birthday today so one of my favourite carols. We used to go carol singing when I was with the Leos and going round doing that was one of my favourite things to do around Christmas.I'm doing not a lot today, decorating the tree [ finally got one] and I've decided on a scene for the windows, don't know how well it'll show up because it's only white chalk pen. I told OH he is taking me out after, so I've booked that. It's hs birthday tomorrow so he gets to do what he wants. And I have another cowl in progress knitting wise, a lovely chunky smooth chenille type wool in a chestnut brown. I've only taken it apart and restarted about five times, so some kind of record there...
Scarlet, sorry you're not feeling tip top, I think nearly everyone has had or is having the lurgy lately. I've never heard of that site so of course I'm going to have to go and look now
they have some solar system crystal lights which may have my future name on
Isn't it your friends birthday today too? Happy Birthday to her! dp1, actually, [ this is going to sound soppy] but the love you have for your dgd really shines through when you post, as well as your family in general and that's lovely to read. Sorry she is unwell again. Gers, sorry about your weather, we have some of that here too. camelot, what an excellent idea re numbering the programmes. Happy shopping! Ruby, have a lovely Christmas party, sorry about the gout...Coxy, hope the painting is going ok..the original film was very enjoyable, for me anyway. The free tickets panto sounds good too,. TA, well done starting wrapping, hope your DD and DGD have a lovely time! Rosy, rol between cling film or a freezer bag split next time
sounds lovely too. YL, I real;y like The Holiday, I think also it's allt he snow about the place. Izzy, hope you were firework free last night! Take care all, stay in if you can, drink mulled wine, eat mince pies, etc....
