*in specie. You cannot assume it for any security: not all brokers offer the same range. You need to check with the receiving broker. Some like T212 show the list on their websites. In regards to the subject of the thread, currently very few brokers offer Treasury bills so you'd definitely need to check.granta said:
So I shouldn't assume that if they allow in species transfers for equities and funds etc that they would allow it for gilts?george4064 said:
In theory yes. But equally important is to check that both parties (the transferring out and in) can accept these type of securities in-specie.granta said:Is it possible to transfer these in species to a different provider?

Thanks. I will definitely check as I hadn't realised they were limited to certain providers. It's a pre-emptive concern for me in case I want to transfer to benefit from provider cashback offers (Fidelity, HL, AJ Bell, Charles Stanley, freetrade, ii being the main ones).wmb194 said:

On my radar now, thanks. Gilts are unchartered territory for me so this is all very helpful. Do you know how platform charges work in regards to gilts? e.g. with HL/AJ Bell where there is a cap for holding etfs?Alexland said:
Never assume always check. For example Fidelity don't even support holding gilts on their platform.granta said:So I shouldn't assume that if they allow in species transfers for equities and funds etc that they would allow it for gilts?0 -
With AJ Bell, gilts (also bonds) are included in the same cap as shares & ETFs.granta said:
