How do you stay productive during long study sessions?

Hi!

Sometimes I lose focus quickly when studying.

Do you have any simple techniques that help you stay concentrated for longer?

Pomodoro, apps, routines — anything is helpful.

    Everyone is different.
For me deadlines concentrate my mind.  The difficulty is in creating real (self-believable)  short-term study deadlines (when the main event is weeks away).  How about a study buddy who you promise you’ll summarise each block of study to?  You could both help each other that way.
Also wordless music with sound isolating headphones/buds helps me. Plus turn off / mute notifications.

You’re right — deadlines definitely help me too, but it’s hard to stay focused when the actual exam or assignment is still far away. I really like your idea of creating small “self-made” deadlines. I also agree about music! Wordless playlists and noise-isolating headphones help me block out distractions. Turning off notifications is something I definitely need to do more often.

Thanks again for taking the time to reply — your tips are really helpful
