Once again thanks for that very useful input A. Geordie and likewise User1977 and 35har1old.
I think on further reflection I may do as Geordie suggested in his first reply and approach the original third-party company PCC to try and ascertain what they know before making any more contact with ESP, OFGEM or anyone else.
Whilst their letter may well be a fishing exercise for them to earn a tidy sum they’ve said no charge would be levied to me so I guess I’ve nothing to lose. My planned works are not date set yet so fingers crossed I may get some information in reasonable time.0
