Provided your phone is not from some weird region it will have NFC.  Go to Settings - Connections and switch it on from there - "NFC and contactless payments".  If you already use the phone for contactless payments it will already be on, if you flick down the top right corner menu there will be a white square with an N in it if switched on along with the Bluetooth, wifi and mobile signal strength symbols.  The sensor is usually in the centre of the top 1/3rd of the phone.

Thank you Molerat. I managed to install Itsme on my mobile phone.
However when I scan the QR code on the laptop with my  phone, it tells me I cannot do the transaction because I do not have a Belgian ID.
So I cannot log into my account.
  • To turn on NFC on an Android phone, open Settings, search for "NFC," and toggle the switch to "On," Assuming your phone is of a version that contains NFC.
    Yes, this.

NFC is hardware/software built into the phone (or not) just like Bluetooth or Wi-fi.

Can you tell us the make/model of your phone?

Any of the 20 series will have NFC capability.
Yes thank you. My phone has it.
