Morning again, it's the usual wet start here.
Belated birthday wishes for yesterday Chrisca, hope you enjoyed your day.
I think I'm starting a cold, it's unusual for me, can't remember when I last had one.I'm ok though.
I've got a little warm spaniel beside me, he's snoring his head off, he sounds like a motorbike! He'll be going home this afternoon with his 'brother', dgs.
Nothing much going on today, dgs wants to make little cakes, and possibly biscuits, we'll do as much as we can.
Glad you got the house sorted out Ruby.
Thoughts to our poorly people, pleased you've got your op organised Gers. It's a pity you're having to pay for treatment, but needs must. Sorry to read that your dg d is not well again dp1. I was going to say something to Rosy Red but now can't remember what it is, sorry Rosy. I'll 're read yesterday's posts and see if I can pick it up.
Hope everyone's day goes well, take care folks.13 -
Morning all. Thanks for the start @Scarlet. Have fun biscuit making.Last night was much calmer than the one before. As was my day, I did a few chores and a little veg shopping. Also bought fresh mustard, what a difference! I didn't enjoy SCD very much last night, too many weird music which didn't suit most of the dances. I've peeked at the spoiler. 😱
This morning I'm going to a small craft fair two villages up from me and meeting up with a friend who lives there. I haven't been to any this year so will make the effort. Now that I'm staying with friends over Christmas I need little mindings so perhaps will find something there without adding to clutter. There's more lovely liver for lunch before I have to freezer dip again.I hope that ever is doing well. Keep wrapped up! Hugs to all.13 -
Morning folks and thanks SCARLET. We currently have snippets of blue sky but the usual showers are due later.
I feel achy and lacklustre, for want of a better word, this morning. I hope I'm not sickening for the lurgy doing the rounds. For the last three years I have been well below par either before, during, or after Christmas so I'm hoping to avoid going down with anything this year.
As much as I would prefer a Sunday of Sloth there are jobs awaiting before I can descend into that. The bedding has just gone into wash but putting the fresh bedding on still awaits. And despite still waiting for yet more gifts etc to arrive I really should summon up some enthusiasm for wrapping or bagging what I have already got. Maybe this afternoon. An easy lunch to prep for - cottage pie base out defrosting so just some Idahoan mash to top that, plus maybe carrots and sugar snaps.
I was a bit disappointed with Strictly too last night. Someone should tell the judges the show isn't about them. They are all annoying me. And like GERS the mishmash of the wrong songs/music accompanying the dances annoyed me too. And don't mention the under/over marking!! I must be the wrong side out this w/e! Have a good day folks if you can with ((HUGS)) for our poorlies, sad or lonely. Take care all, be safe xx"If you dream alone it will remain just a dream. But if we all dream together it will become reality"13 -
Morning everyone
Damp and drizzly here again.
Little one was full of beans yesterday.....she said ' I felt poorly yesterday, today I'm better.' She was on her feeding pump, so that keeps her sugars up. We decorated the tree together, wrapped her mummys' presents and made a Christmas wreath. Then we spent the last half hour before she was picked up snuggled up reading Christmas books....a lovely afternoon.
She is so excited for Christmas and all the lovely activities at school, fingers crossed she'll be well enough not to miss anything.
I'll go down to mam and dads this morning, I need to put some more audible books on dads tablet and hopefully finish mams Christmas wrapping.
Better get dressed, I hope everyone has a good day x13 -

I'm dreaming of a White Christmas
Just like the ones I used to know
Where the treetops glisten
and children listen
To hear sleigh bells in the snow.
I'm dreaming of a white Christmas
With every Christmas card I write
May your days be merry and bright
And may all your Christmases be white❄️🎀✨🎄☃️🎄✨🎀❄️
Good morning! The weather is grey and dull and threatening to rain..but in my clearout yesterday I have managed to already give away two things [ picking up this morning] and sold one with almost no effort. I'm off out later to see about a Christmas tree, love the smell of real ones and the bonus is it's extra compost for the garden/allotment or filler for the raised beds when we're done with it. So probably decorating that later on. I also have to find some chalk pens, with the blinds now I can't put lights up and OH is a bit of a humbug, which is disappointing but I love Christmas [just the general feel of it, not the insane shopping pressure, but then I haven't got a telly so I don't see the ads or anything] and I'd like to put something on the windows at least. will have to dust off the drawing skills. Not a lot else going on, maybe a qick shop for cat treats...and cheese. OH has gone through a big block already with his daily cheese on toast breakfast. And I must drop off the cardboard and some wood to make a kale cage at the allotment at some point but it's not supposed to be dry until Wednesday...
Izzy, I did laugh and nod at if you stayed in because of bad weather here you'd never go out, so true in the winter anyway..And they don't take it to the tip because then they#d probably have to pay, fly tipping is usually the result of someone offering a cheap rubbish removal service...Coxy, what a shame about your fake note, apparently, they're doing the rounds here too but well done on the fundraising! Gers, I only dicovered yesterday what mindings actually are so I nodded in my new found wisdom
Have a lovely time! TA, I find that putting the radio on a christmas song channel usually does the trick for motivating me around now, but it has to be carols, not songs
then again, no pressure, there's two weeks or so yet! Sorry to any who have the lurgy or incipient lurgy, hopefully you'll all recover quickly! Non me fac calcitrare tuum culi11 -
Morning all
Raining here again and set in for the day, not good for getting the washing dry.
Yesterday I decorated the dresser which looks lovely and today we will do the tree, I must say it really makes you feel Christmasy with all the lights etc.
Dinner tonight will be chilli and rice, we tend not to have a roast throughout December to make the Christmas dinner a bit more special, mum and I will go out tomorrow and get the meat for Christmas we are going to get a bit of turkey and a bit of beef, mum has a £50 Tesco voucher which we can use.
OH will put the outside lights up today between showers, and take the dogs out then this afternoon will be one of sloth.
Have good days all and take care xx11 -
Morning everyone just come in from a good dog walk and a good natter with people I’ve bumped into I made the most of the morning it has to pour down later and it’s set for the day .Taff I’m with you I love Xmas just not the pressure that goes with it or the shopping I don’t buy presents now I give them all money and they can spend it in the January sales let them rush around the shops we put our tree up yesterday and some decorations we were going to have a new tree for next year I’ve had this one a long time and it looks the worse for wear it was in the sale about ten years ago but it looks nice decorated and lit up I have most of the family for Xmas day except for one who thinks she’s to good for us she’s not missed by anyone it’s just a shame for the children although they are growing up now the youngest is 11 but we have come to the decision we can’t do anything about it and we all enjoy it . I’m just having a cuppa all the dinner is prepared I could do with the mats washing in the kitchen but I need a dry day to get them out I will have to keep an eye on the forcast DP1 it’s lovely when they are that age and excited to see Santa I hope she stays well over the Xmas and gets to enjoy it all . Thinking of all the poorlies hugs to those that need them have a good day everyone whatever you are doing10

Afternoon everyone, thanks Scarlet for starting. Was it the mince pies you were going to mention to me perhaps ?
I might do some today and put in the freezer. We had an early walk with Lennydog round Woodland Trust paths for a change, very muddy but more or less dry - not now though it's chucking it down. I put a pork joint in the sc before we went out, and there is a sticky toffee pud for the men for afters.Dp1 glad LO feels better & hope she gets to do all the xmassy activities at school.Hope you find some chalk pens Taff, they had some nice scenes on the windows at the place I met my cousins last week.Mehefin, how annoying about the polystyrene. I hate litter and people just dumping stuff.I love Christmas too but do feel like it gets harder the older I get
- bah humbug.Hope you enjoy the rest of your day, whether busy or slothful!

Good afternoon all.
Dull and raining here. I've been mia again, the days are just whizzing by. DH has got me a new mobile for Xmas, my old one was 7 years old, well passed it's sell by date, it's taking some getting used to, but I think I'm getting there.
Yesterday I went to As*a. Earlier in the year they were offering a£40 gift card for taking out pet insurance with them. I was renewing BDs so took it out. I got the voucher about a month ago and decided to spend it on the meat offers. Well, I got 3 half legs of lamb and 2 sides of salmon, both a treat for us. Just need to get some beef now.
My bf has just messaged me to say her and her DH are on there way to Portsmouth where they will meet their cruise ship, they are going on a cruise around the Caribbean for Christmas and the New Year. After her DHs heart scare earlier in the year they have decided to enjoy life while they can.
I think that's all the news for now, will read back. Hope everyone is keeping well, and love and hugs to the poorlies. Take care.10 -
Hi all,
Late one from me as we’ve been on our last Hope Walk with family and friends. Drizzling here and paths very muddy but everyone enjoyed it, and yet more money raised. Nephew would have been 31 today 😢
I’ve just had a hot shower and our walking coats are in the WM. Walking clothes going in next. Dinner is an easy beef stroganoff. We got a real, potted tree yesterday and some new outside lights. Couldn’t put them up as left it too late, so next chance will be Tuesday when DH is off. I’ve also discovered I have no Christmas cards so will need to shop for some tomorrow. We bought our turkey breast joint on BOGOF and some sausage meat for the stuffing, some
cheese from a local dairy and some cherry wine from the adjacent village. Just the veg and desserts to get now - only four of us so won’t go mad!Glad little DGD is feeling brighter @dp1 x
I’ve had a head cold all week with no sign of budging - annoying but it’s the time of year!! Hope yours doesn’t come to anything @ScarletRibbons x.Have a good afternoon/evening all.CoxyCross-stitch WIP: Haberdashery Shop Fiver Friday challenge 2026 founding member 😊 Read 26 books in 2026 18/26 Currently
